SUMMARY OF PRIMARY FUNCTION

We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Senior Innovation Engineer to join our team, specializing in the tint dispensing and mixing industry. The ideal candidate will lead the development of groundbreaking innovations, driving projects from initial concept through to production. This role requires an understanding of mechanical and structural engineering, electrical/electronic requirements, fluid dynamics, and the ability to integrate advanced technologies into product solutions for our customers.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the ideation and development of innovative mechanical systems and components for tint dispensing and mixing.

  • Lead teams and collaborate with product stakeholders (Sales, Product Management & Operations) to define concept objectives. Then develop and successfully transition these concepts into working prototypes.

  • Utilize expertise in fluid dynamics, with a focus on non-Newtonian fluids, to drive product innovation.

  • Understand existing pump technologies and proactively investigate new methods that best support customer and stakeholders needs.

  • Plan and execute testing strategies, including the development of prototype fixtures and test plans.

  • Conduct simulations, testing, and validation of new designs to fail fast and iterate new solutions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Software, Hardware, and manufacturing, to bring innovative concepts to fruition.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.

  • Stay update to date with industry trends and advancements to incorporate new technologies and methodologies.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION FOR THE POSITION

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Innovation Engineering, or a related field.

  • 15+ years of extensive experience in mechanical and structural engineering with a focus on innovation.

  • Proven design and development of systems involving fluid dynamics, preferably non-Newtonian fluids.

  • Experience in pump development and optimization.

  • Proficiency in using CAD software for designing and modeling components utilizing preferably SolidWorks. Experienced to use CAD for preparation of design documents (Drawing, BOM, Assembly Drawing etc.)

  • Experience with stepper motors and their integration into mechanical systems.

  • Strong background in test planning and prototype fixture development.

  • Knowledge of electrical systems and their integration with mechanical designs.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to overcome design challenges.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

  • Able to work in at shopfloor work environment.
