SUMMARY OF PRIMARY FUNCTION

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team, focusing on new product development (NPD) and testing. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and optimizing innovative products, with a particular emphasis on sheet metal, machined, cast, and molded component engineering. Your expertise will be critical in ensuring our products meet performance, quality, and cost-efficiency standards.

You will contribute by:

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and contribute to all stages of the new product development process, from concept ideation to design, prototyping, and final production.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and manufacturing specialists, to ensure the successful execution of NPD projects.

  • Drive innovation by proposing creative solutions and engineering designs that align with market demands and company goals.

  • Leverage your expertise in sheet metal, machined, cast, and molded component engineering to develop robust product designs.

  • Ensure designs meet structural, functional, and aesthetic requirements while adhering to industry standards.

  • Apply DFM principles to optimize product designs for ease of manufacturing, cost-effectiveness, and quality.

  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to resolve design-related issues and implement improvements that enhance production efficiency.

  • Plan, execute, and oversee product testing and validation processes, including reliability, durability, and performance testing.

  • Analyze test data and feedback to make informed design modifications and improvements.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • BS in Mechanical engineering

  • 8+ years of experience in sheet metal, machined, cast, and molded component engineering and testing.

  • Proven experience in a new product development environment

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes

  • In-depth knowledge of 3D engineering design and manufacturing tools (e.g., Solid Works)

  • Experience with testing and analysis tools (such as MATLAB or LabVIEW)

  • Proficient with applied mathematical statistics, design, and business systems.
