SUMMARY
IDEX Health and Science a global authority in Optics and Fluidics seeks an individual for a Senior Cost Accountant on our Inventory and Costing Team. This position will play a critical role to understand and analyze the inventory costs associated with the manufacturing processes at our Optics and Fluidic sites.
The Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for the timely, accurate collection, reporting of cost related financial information and cost variance analysis. This role requires the ability to analyze and interpret general business information, perform professional journals, and understand technical procedures and policies. This role will also generate reports and effectively present information to management team, finance groups and operations team members.
This position will be located at our LSO site located in West Henrietta, NY. We are open to hiring a hybrid position.
SCOPE / MANAGEMENT & INTERACTION:
The Senior Cost Accountant reports to the Cost and Inventory Controller. The position will collaborate with other Cost & Inventory Business Partners, other operational site leaders, FP&A analysts and works across the LSO and Fluidics organization on standardizing Cost & Inventory functions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Mastery of Cost Accountant responsibilities including:
Monitor, review and analyze daily manufacturing activities. Provide variances and root cause analysis for relevant, accurate and timely input and performance reporting
Perform daily cost accounting tasks such as:
Review of Cycle count and inventory adjustments
New part costing
Engineering Change Orders / Revisions
Ensure completeness and accuracy of work orders on a weekly and monthly basis and analyze/explain variances
Perform monthly inventory General Ledger to perpetual reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliations
Perform quarterly Excess, Obsolete and Zero Usage analysis and calculations
Perform Direct Material Index calculation and understand changes month over month
Perform quarterly Intercompany Profit Elimination analysis
Partner with sites and lead financial portion of annual physical inventories
Complete monthly compliance reporting per IDEX policies and procedures
Analyze Material Variances and recommend and/or implement process improvements
Analyze Labor Efficiencies and coordinate with Operations teams on main drivers of variances
Complete SOX audits and implement corrective actions related to Cost & Inventory
Oversee the Annual Cost Rolls including the preparation and analysis of the Labor and Burden Studies
Review and recommend process improvements and standardization across 5 manufacturing sites in accordance with IDEX policies
Assist with forecasting and budgeting functions for all site manufacturing operations
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of Cost Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong grasp of GAAP accounting and cost accounting concepts
Experience with Standard Cost methodology
Experience with ERP systems is required, JD Edwards preferred
Expert skills in Excel and SAP Web Intelligence; high proficiency in OneStream and other Microsoft Office Applications, Power BI preferred

Total Rewards
The compensation range for this position is $76,200.00 - $114,400.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
