Job Summary :
The Sr. FP&A/Cost Analyst is responsible for all aspects of the financial planning, forecasting, and manufacturing cost accounting functions at two IDEX sites (Albuquerque and Rochester Semicon). The position will require travel to both sites to provide support on a regular basis. We are seeking a proactive and creative problem solver comfortable in leading efficiency improvements and strategic actions, as well as being a strong communicator who can provide recommendations to Senior Management in order to continuously drive towards the two site’s strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Proficient with the FP&A process:
Work with the Finance manager to understand and use forecasting and reporting tools, AOP process and reporting, Quarter end process and reporting, as well as Strategic Planning
Assist with ad hoc reporting, and help to build and maintain robust tools that assist with the dissemination of Financial, Commercial, and Operational metrics
Responsible for reporting, forecasting and analyzing the manufacturing cost sections of the P&L and balance sheet. This includes standard costs, variances to standards, operating direct charges and inventory.
Coordinate cost management functions to ensure accurate, timely product cost and inventory account information. This includes inventory reserve calculations and balances, where required by U.S. GAAP Accounting and IDEX corporate policy.
Support manufacturing operations to include:
Monitor, review and analyze daily manufacturing activities. Provide variances and root cause analysis for relevant, accurate and timely input and performance reporting.
Review standards against current cost roll-ups on a regular basis to ensure accurate cost data and provide feedback on product margin analysis.
Evaluate BOM costing accuracy and communicate exceptions.
Perform make-buy analyses for parts / assemblies.
Participate in productivity improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives as requested.
Support inventory optimization initiatives, including driving processes to identify and evaluate root cause front end process drivers and maintain appropriate disposition policies and procedures.
Lead and streamline annual material, labor and burden standards review and update.
Assist in annual price book reviews through strategic product margin analysis. Support product line P&L analyses
Commercial analysis and reporting of Sales/Orders/Backlog
Balance Sheet reconciliation for Inventory Accounts based on monthly Inventory Analysis.
Skills & Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
ERP (JDE experience preferred), Advanced Excel and PowerBI experience
4+ years of FP&A/Accounting experience; cost accounting preferred
2+ years of operational experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Advanced financial modeling and analytical techniques
Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and high confidence in stating professional opinions
Self-motivated, focused and able to identify needs and implement solutions with minimal supervision.
Strong grasp of GAAP accounting and general accounting concepts
Demonstrated ability to streamline and automate complex processes
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
Other Requirements:
Pay: $100,000 to $120,000 dependent upon experience
Job Location: Albuquerque, NM or role is remote work eligible
