IDEX Regional Sales Manager - Mining (Remote) in United States

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Mining Sales Manager will be responsible for managing and directing sales growth through the collection of relevant data and market information, defining and fulfilling customer needs, management and cultivation of sales channels, sharing of performance measurements, and participation in a team effort to plan and develop profitable growth for ABEL in the mining industry.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Achieve and exceed region’s monthly, quarterly, and annual sales/bookings goals, strategic and unit sales mix objectives, operating profit target and market share goals

  • Develop sales plans and strategies to increase market penetration within region

  • Participate in annual sales strategy planning

  • Develop annual sales quotas for Sales Intermediaries

  • Manage and control expenses at or below budgeted levels

  • Generate quotations to identified strategic key accounts monthly

  • Conduct technical seminars for end users, Sales Intermediaries and engineering firms

  • Write, translate and understand technical specifications for proper pump selection and optimization

  • Manage "project" activity in the assigned territory, including product offering, recommend pricing levels based on Value Selling concepts, and establish sales strategy while following company policies and objectives.

  • Sales call and Lead management to be processed as per company program i.e. CRM and quote log management.

  • Develop and implement strategies for displacement of competition at new and existing targeted accounts with the goal of increased market share and penetration.

  • Communicate with the ABEL Management to ensure customer commitments and opportunities are captured

  • Attend national or local sales meetings as requested

  • Ensure manufacturers Sales Intermediaries achieve and exceed individual monthly, quarterly and annual sales quota, strategic and regional sales mix objectives

  • Provide comprehensive feedback on field sales calls to top management

  • Perform annual evaluations and conduct formal documented feedback sessions with Sales Intermediaries on an annual basis

  • Recruit, develop and train new Sales Intermediaries with clearly communicated sales and overall performance standards

  • Develop training and conduct performance evaluations for sales channels

  • Assist Inside Sales Manager in closing open opportunities as required

  • Provide the company with new product ideas, market trends, territory market data, sales growth strategies, and competitive intelligence. Participate on New Product Development, marketing, and sales teams as required.

  • Implementation of e-business initiatives with designated channel partners.

  • Other duties as assigned by Management

  • Continually develop personal sales skills via self-development.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • A college degree and a minimum of two years experience in industrial field sales.

OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Self-motivated, excellent organizational skills, planning skills and presentation skills.

  • Selling and relationship skills.

  • Willingness to travel, including 50% overnight stay.

  • MSHA Certification is a plus.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Word, Power Point, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Experience with CRM a plus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to move within office and manufacturing complex, write by hand and keyboard, and perform general office functions.

  • Ability to move safely within an active mine site while following all safety precautions.

  • Ability to communicate by speech and hearing via phone and in person.

  • Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.

  • General manufacturing, minesite, and office environment.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate with customers, suppliers and all levels of corporate and company personnel.

  • Works closely with other unit field sales management, other IDEX business units, IDEX Strategic Account Management organization, Customer Support Center (CSC), Applications and Product Engineering, Warranty & Repair, Information Systems, and Accounting.

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $94,600.00 - $141,800.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
