JOB SUMMARY:

STC’s Senior FP&A Analyst reports directly to the Finance Director and plays a vital role in the reporting and analysis of financial results to the local management team as well as to the IDEX corporate finance team. This role will collaborate with local management to pull together and publish the monthly and quarterly forecasts, and the annual operating plan (budget). Likewise, you will support the local management team with budget versus actual reports and help them to understand and act to correct variances. The role also is involved with inventory reduction efforts and the valuation of inventory on a periodic basis.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Participate in the month-end close, including preparation of required journal entries, account reconciliations, and prepare month end operating review analysis package.

  • Lead preparation of the monthly forecast and quarterly operating review.

  • Lead and coordinate inventory costing process.

  • Coordinate and compile annual physical inventory including end of life and full absorption reserve balances.

  • Participate in the annual strategic planning and budgeting processes including establishing assumptions, spreadsheet modeling, consolidation, analysis and presentation preparation.

  • Prepare and present various daily and weekly operating metrics to monitor business performance.

  • Analyze variances in sales, manufacturing, and general expenses ensuring alignment with budget, forecast, and prior year.

  • Analyze, propose, implement and track improvements in working capital.

  • Analyze and review gross margin reports, conduct monthly review of the most profitable and least profitable parts or components manufactured (“margin review”).

  • Prepare and review product cost estimates as requested by the Sales and Engineering Departments.

  • Perform product line profitability analysis.

  • Prepare ad-hoc financial analysis to support senior management decisions.

  • Support integration into new parent company.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance and/or MBA required.

  • 5-7 years of accounting or financial reporting experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience in preparing, analyzing, and implementing accounting and reporting requirements.

  • Excellent computer and technological skills, including high proficiency in Consolidation Systems, ERP, and Microsoft Office Applications preferred.

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ease in handling large data sets to derive conclusions or examine patterns or anomalies.

  • Works effectively in a team environment, within and outside of the Finance Department.

  • Consistently operates at the highest level of integrity and is never willing to compromise with regards to ethical standards.

  • Working knowledge of SQL a plus.

Success in this position requires the ability to build a strong partnership with the FM and Business Unit Senior Managers and frequent communication with finance peers. These relationships must be built on respect, integrity, cooperation, teamwork, and professionalism.
