IDEX Test Technician in Rutherford, New Jersey

SUMMARY

The Test Technician will be responsible for performing standardized quality control checks on products to ensure required legal and company standards for safety and quality are met. This individual maintains calibrated test equipment and prepares test data.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Tests and inspects products according to quality and safety standards.

  • Populates inspection reports with test results as displayed on testing interfaces.

  • Records non-conforming material within the proper logs and alerting supervisor as required.

  • Ensures that products are tested within timely manner.

  • Performs necessary transactions in ERP system to maintain accurate inventory.

  • Ensures test equipment is within calibration and functioning safely and properly.

  • Participate in continuous improvement activities and trainings.

  • Maintains a clean and orderly workspace within the test room.

  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED or related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience as an Inspection or quality technician

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High-level of visual awareness

  • Ability to work alone with minimal supervision

  • Ability to stand for long periods

  • Basic math, computer, and keyboarding skills to work within the ERP system

  • Must demonstrate good attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

  • Experience drafting reports and collating data

  • Ability to analyze and interpret technical information

  • Understanding of ISO9001 preferred

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • Must be authorized to work in the US

  • Employee will occasionally lift average of 50 lbs.

  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

  • Shop floor working environment

  • Required to wear safety glasses and utilize other safety equipment as required while present on the production floor

  • Noise level is moderate with intervals of spikes.
