Job Title : Project Engineer (I&C)

Hiring Manager : Director of Engineering

Location: Remote

Mission of the position : This person is responsible for Design, Analysis, Startup, and Support of large industrial filtration systems around the world.

Key Responsibilities:

Major Challenges:

  1. Execute various projects assigned and be responsible to meet project deadlines

  2. Manage subvendors to ensure major equipment is designed according to technical specifications and delivered in accordance with overall project schedule

  3. Provide field support to install, start-up and/or train at customer plant site

  4. Perform onsite inspections of major equipment such as pumps, instrumentation, valving, control panels etc

  5. Managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment

  6. Managing third party vendors and engineering firms to meet schedule commitments

  7. Communicating directly with Customers to uncover technical needs and demonstrate the technical value of Mott’s solutions

Expected Performance Outcomes:

Required Experience:

  1. Complete engineering deliverables and drawings on time, and within 5% of budgeted hours per overall project schedule

  2. Manage sub-vendors to required ship date and within 5% of projected costs

  3. Perform onsite inspections and address deviations to result in shipment of equipment on time per overall project schedule

  4. BS Degree in I&C, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial or similar Engineering field or equivalent industry experience

  5. Experience with Process Equipment controls, wiring diagrams, valves and instrument selection and sizing, PLC programming

  6. Experience managing or coordinating the activities of third party fabrication and engineering firms

  7. Experience interfacing with Manufacturing, Quality, or Operations departments

Technical Knowledge/Skills:

Personal Attributes:

  1. Understanding of technical aspects of chemical processing and related mechanical or I&C equipment

  2. Proven teamwork skills across multiple disciplines

  3. Superior verbal & written communication skills

  4. 10+ years working as I&C or Project engineer with deep knowledge and ability to develop P&IDs, spec sheets, valve and intrument sizing and specifications, wiring diagrams, electrical layouts, conduit sizing, etc

  5. Ability to program AB or other PLCs preferred

  6. Engineering knowledge and experience
