HR Advisor

Overall purpose of role :

To provide guidance and support to employees and managers on all people-related matters, enabling high performance teams and fully engaged employees across the organisation through HR best practice.

Key Responsibilities:

HR Business Partnership and Employee Relations

  • Acting as the true People Champion - being the point of contact for onsite employee relations, providing advice and guidance on people issues and escalating to the HR Director as necessary.

  • Ensuring organisational compliance with UK employment legislation and guidelines, including IDEX and Matcon policies and procedures.

  • Working with the Global HR Team to support the annual engagement survey, data analysis and action plans for the Business Unit and driving through change initiatives as appropriate.

  • Enhance the company culture to embrace diversity and act as the employee experience champion within our health and wellness and DEIB initiatives to build a legacy of greatness.

  • Attending the monthly Employee Forum, channelling Employee Representative queries as appropriate and facilitating changes for continuous improvement.

  • Enhancing our Employee Value Proposition through networking, conferences, career fairs and seminars. Applying best practice in all our HR activities and constantly striving for continuous improvement.

Compensation, Benefits and HRIS

  • Expert-user of the HRIS Workday; ensuring data integrity at all times. Providing reports and data analysis on key HR metrics and general business information.

  • Collation, administration and execution of monthly payroll and pensions through Workday.

  • Responding to employee queries regarding compensation, benefits and salary sacrifice.

  • Full ownership and administration of existing and new company benefits.

  • Managing and reporting on all employee absences.

  • Creating and generating a variety of reports for internal use and for various regulatory purposes.

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Managing the full talent acquisition process for permanent, temporary and contractor roles: advertising, job descriptions, applicant screening, employee referrals, interview scheduling and reference checks.

  • In partnership with managers and supervisors, develop and execute a recruitment plan that aligns with business objectives. Ensuring a diverse slate of candidates is available for interviews and any unconscious bias is filtered.

  • Conducts new employee orientation and “on-boarding” to ensure the employee is aware of our values, culture and practices.

Training, Development and Talent Management

  • Providing support and guidance to managers on performance management, end of year and mid year reviews, 121s and other processes.

  • Identifying training needs through skills and competency assessments tools. Arranging individual and business-wide training courses as appropriate.

  • Assisting in the organisational talent capability programme, succession planning and individual development plans.

  • Coordinating the Apprenticeship programme and facilitating STEM activities.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Possesses a high level of attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate own point of view.

  • Ability to provide sound employee relations advice to managers and support them in moderately complex case work.

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, tact and discretion in dealing with sensitive employee and job candidate information.

  • Self-motivated and able to work under own autonomy as well as part of a global HR team.

  • Possesses critical thinking while problem solving

  • Ability to progress within HR and strive to take on more responsibility and accountability.

Knowledge & Qualifications :

  • Extensive employee relations experience is essential.

  • Maintaining knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in HR, talent management and employment law.

  • CIPD level 3 or 5

Location and any travel requirements :

Matcon Head Office, Evesham, Worcestershire, UK. Occasional travel to local careers fairs may be required. Hybrid model, working two days in office.
