1st Shift with pay starting at $31.92-$36.24 depending on experience!

Our Machine Shop team in Cedar Falls, IA is looking for an experienced Plumber who excels in a fast-paced environment. This position is on 1st shift, eligible for regular wage adjustments every 90 days and benefits after 60 days.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Must be able to plan, fabricate, and test any new pipe fitting job in the plant.

• Must understand and be able to repair any plumbing or pipe fitting job in the shop both on buildings and machinery.

• Must have a working knowledge of all types of tools, threads, parts and materials used in pipe fitting, and know the city plumbing code so that any completed work will meet these specifications.

• Must be able to plan underground and overhead work with ladders, scaffolding shoring, braces and tools to obtain maximum safety results.

• Required to maintain, service and repair boiler and HVAC equipment.

• Basic understanding of the fire panel and sprinkler systems along assisting all inspections

• Required to maintain, service, and repair all air compressing equipment and condensate return pumping systems and equipment.

• Required to handle acid to clean out steam generator and cooling system.

• Set up and operate below machine(s) and equipment on any job assigned to consistently produce work of accepted quality and quantity.

• Occasionally required to do work of higher level as a means of preparing for advancement.

• Occasionally required to help train new or transferred employees.

• Exercise proper care of tools and equipment.

• May be required to perform work of a lower degree of skill, such as unload tank cards, shovel sidewalks, clean flues, etc.

• Must be able to work mandatory overtime as needed.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or GED.

• Requires the use of shop mathematics, complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables, and various adjustable measuring instruments.

• Requires Journeyman HVAC or Journeyman Plumbers License.

EQUIPMENT/TOOLS:

• Drill press, plumbers hand tools, vises, pipe threader, hoists, and similar or equivalent equipment.

• Pipe cutting and threading tools, vises, wrenches, ladders, hand tools, and similar or equivalent tools.

• Measuring tools include mikes, scales – ruler.

• Any material used in pipefitting trade, including tubing.

WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds on a regular basis and up to 70 pounds on a periodic basis.

• Stand for extended periods of time up to 10 hours per day.

• Ability to move within office and manufacturing complex and write by hand and/or type.

• Ability to communicate by speech and hearing via phone and in person.

• Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.

• Exposed to any number of elements, but none continuously present to the extent of being disagreeable.
