*This is an onsite position.

SUMMARY: The purpose of this job is to troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain production equipment as well as maintaining the building/facilities in the most cost and energy efficient manner. Assists in the design, conceptualization, and coordination of special projects to meet specific implementation requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Troubleshoot and repair any of Gast’s equipment and machinery.

  • Repair the most complex mechanical and electrical malfunctions with minimal support from other maintenance personnel or outside service contractors.

  • Test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test equipment or software, and applying knowledge of the functional operation of electronic units and systems.

  • Examines work orders and communicates with equipment operators to detect equipment problems to ascertain mechanical or human errors contributed to the problems.

  • Troubleshoot and repairs building/equipment, electrical problems and perform all electrical work in accordance with the National Electrical Code.

  • Study blueprints, schematics, manuals, or other specifications to determine installation procedures.

  • Set up and test industrial equipment to ensure that it functions properly.

  • Use maintenance software and be able to purchase, order, or pickup all parts needed to maintain equipment and support all projects.

  • Maintain equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, or tests.

  • Cross train with other maintenance personnel: machine training, learning, day to day correspondence to function as a team player.

  • Interface with members of other departments, co-workers, and outside vendors.

  • Take project leadership roles in the planning, development, design, and implementation process for all maintenance projects, which may include electrical control circuits, electrical service, conduit, and piping-hazardous locations.

  • Learn, remain up to date with & perform when needed, all requirements necessary to fulfill the Hazardous Waste duties associated with this position.

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks: checking, cleaning, or repairing equipment, to detect and prevent problems.

  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 8 years of skilled trades experience

  • Journeyman’s Certificate preferred

  • Electrical experience preferred

  • HVAC experience preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis without accommodation

  • Stand for extended periods of time

  • May be required to wear PPE related to specific tasks

Pay: $30.94 - $33.29 per hour
