SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
This position is responsible for product management of Hale Products, Inc. and Akron Brass’ North America product lines. Maintains product lifecycles for various products sold to support Apparatus manufacturing.
REPORTS TO : Director of Product Management – Apparatus
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
Determine and define project scope and objectives
Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements
Track project costs in order to meet budget
Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan
Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables
Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed
Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement
Prepares product development objectives and schedules for all phases of product development and introduction to market.
Develops and maintains a prioritized list of customer and market requirements for product, identifies opportunities for new products, product enhancements, and cost reductions.
Determines product structure and mixture, product rationalization, global options, and product life cycle.
Maintains communications and contacts to collect and analyze technical, financial, schedule, and sales information for the product line.
Conducts and prepares competitive analysis materials comparing product with its key competitors.
Conducts market research and analysis, customer surveys, and identifies and tracks market trends in the company’s industry.
Coordinates and develops marketing, sales, engineering, and financial plans for the product line; includes financial and technical justification for product selection and definition.
Participates in overall product strategy, research and development requirements, and the development and manufacturing coordination for new and emerging products.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIRED ABILITIES:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, or a related field
3-5 years of project management and related experience
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
Proven ability to solve problems creatively
Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle
Excellent analytical skills
Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, product bulletins and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and to respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
