Sr. Director of Business Optimization, FSG


The Continuous Improvement Manager supports all aspects of the business and operational initiatives. This position will primarily focus on process improvements, parts availability, manufacturing efficiencies, testing and product development, with an underlined obsession to serving our customers and the market.


• Understanding of lean principles and tools to drive sustainable improvements.

Apply statistical analysis using the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control) process to determine necessary course of action to improve or resolve issues.

Analyze data such as work instructions, customer requirements and Engineering specifications to obtain better knowledge of required methods, procedures, and activities.

Recommend and develop methods for improving utilization of equipment, personnel, material, and workspaces across the business.

Estimate financial impact of current and proposed change recommendations for management review, action, and controls.

Implement processes and procedures needed to sustain improvements.

Implement process and product specifications necessary to establish quality and reliability objectives.

Partner with production teams to drive/ accelerate data collection, project execution, measured results

Train and develop internal resources to support continuous improvements initiatives for the business.

Source and validate CI opportunities in the CI Funnel in partnership with the site leadership teams.

Support business initiatives from conception to completion

Additional Desired Skills

Formal Lean and/ or Six Sigma certifications from a certified trainer.

Previous job experience in continuous improvement utilizing the DMAIC process.

Production and Processing -- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality controls and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

Administration and Management -- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.

Mechanical -- Knowledge of equipment and tools used in the manufacturing processes.

Design -- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, drawings, and models.

Education and Training -- Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.

Experience with MRP Systems, JDE and/ or Siteline preferred

Bachelor's Degree required

5+ years of experience in CI, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar roles.

Strategic thinker with ability to translate insights into actionable strategies and execution

Excellent communication, influencing, and presentation skills at all levels; visualization skills and the ability to succinctly articulate concepts and ideas in a simple fashion

Experience with business analytics including qualitative and quantitative research, contextual inquiry; ability to analyze data to form conclusions and identify root causes of problems or issues

Team oriented, collaborative, and passionate advocate for own recommendations and ideas while maintaining flexibility to incorporate others' points of view

Comfortable working in grey space areas within a fast moving and changing organization

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Power Point, Visio, Word, and Outlook) at an advanced level preferred
