IT Support Technician (Hybrid Role) - Westwood, MA
MPT designs manufacture and distributes patented and proprietary high-performance Microfluidizer ® materials processing and formulation equipment to the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, chemical, cosmetics/personal care, and food industries. Microfluidics applies its 28 years of high-pressure processing experience to produce the most uniform and smallest liquid and suspended solid particles available, and has provided manufacturing systems for nanoparticle products for more than 15 years.
Position Summary:
As the IT Support Technician, you will be responsible for managing the network, servers, and workstations for Microfluidics, as well as providing end-user support and training in all software applications. Reporting to the Business Unit Director, the successful applicant will be a proven self-starter able to work independently with minimal supervision, research solutions, and respond quickly to requests using a corporate ticketing system or telephone support.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support a growing IT infrastructure of 50+ Workstations, Laptops, and Mobile Devices
Install, upgrade, troubleshoot and maintain Windows Workstations
Maintain both physical and Hyper-V virtual servers
Perform tasks including monitoring, storage, and backup, server performance tuning, and upgrades
Provide desktop/telephone support, software training, and troubleshooting to end users locally and at remote sites
Configure, Maintain and Troubleshoot Cisco VoIP phone system
Maintain accurate inventory of all hardware, peripheral devices, software, and licenses
Identify and recommend system improvements, upgrades, and replacements
Purchase, configure, and maintain Apple & Android mobile devices
Generate SQLs/Queries as needed based on MSSQL standards
Coordinate with Corporate Security to remediate security vulnerabilities
Manage building security and access systems – door access and alarms
Miscellaneous office administration as required
Qualifications:
Bachelor/college degree in a field related to computer hardware, software, or information systems
2+ years of experience working in a technical support/system admin role
Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office & Windows Server expertise
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and customer requests
