West Jordan, Utah manufacturing company is seeking a career minded, self-driven IT Support Technician that is seeking to professionally grow with a dynamic team.

As a support technician, the candidate must be well-versed in computer systems and network functions. The ideal candidate will be able to work diligently, accurately, independently with minimal oversight, and will possess a problem solving ability in order to fix issues and ensure functionality.

The expertise is to install, configure, and support the company’s client PC’s, network infrastructure,

servers, backup systems, and phone systems. Excellent communication and follow up skills to perform access troubleshooting, setup and repair. Provide technical support for all installed applications and coordinate trouble tickets resolution. Responsible for maintenance and logging of successful backup procedure, and maintain/update a disaster recovery plan. Perform new user setup, configuration and troubleshooting.

The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years IT customer support experience, and a thorough knowledge of computer systems and IT components and be able to perform the following functions.

Essential Job Functions:

Maintain the infrastructure of the network, its systems, workstations, servers, and connectivity components.

Provide ERP (Visual Manufacturing) support for new users, security maintenance and database backups. Provide escalation to Visual support when necessary.

Perform and verify nightly system backups for network file and application servers.

Provide business analytics to assist in retrieving and verifying data within the system.

Assist 35 - 40 users with diagnoses of both software and hardware related problems.

Troubleshoot network and connectivity problems.

Monitor all server and client computers to assure software is properly updated and patches are applied to minimize security threats.

Assist with the update/maintain disaster recovery planning and implementation.

Assist in the procurement of IT hardware and software. Recommend the replacement of old PCs and re-distribute PCs where applicable.

Update IT asset database of new or expiring equipment.

Upgrade the network; file servers, workstation, and printers when approved.

Offer timely technical support and teach users how to utilize computers correctly.

Ensure compliance with IDEX security by managing security options and software in computers and networks to maintain privacy and protection from attacks.

Maintain licensing information for software used by the company.

Maintain and troubleshoot the phone system.

Provide support to other geographic sites. These tasks will frequently need to be carried out utilizing limited remote resources and limited PC knowledge.

Aptitude in utilizing various remote assistance tools, phone troubleshooting and providing best practice instructions.

Advise Director of Finance immediately of any errors, irregularities, or significant adjustments.

Provide excellent customer service.

Concise and clear written instructions.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Regular and reliable attendance.


Associate or Bachelor degree in relevant field.

Two to 5+ years of relevant job experience.

ERP system experience desired; business analytics background.

Exceptional organizing and time management skills.

Good knowledge of Internet security and data privacy principles.

Strong interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of LAN, WAN networking technologies.

Windows Server operating systems; computer hardware; Internet protocols; and network cabling, switches, patch panels, etc.

Ability to work flexible hours in coordination with system demands as required.

General office environment.

Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, freely move about the office and shop floor, write by hand and keyboard, and be able to use voice communication tools.

Visual acuity is needed for close detail work and computer use.
