SCOPE OF ROLE:
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Purchasing Support Specialist will be part of the Purchasing Team and will be responsible for purchase order processing and maintenance within the JDE-ERP system of MRO requisitions, Service Requisitions and Consumable replenishment orders from initial PO entry through PO receipt. This position includes but is not limited to purchase order entry and maintenance, managing on-time placement of future PO’s; logic and problem solving for PO issue resolution, ownership of electronic flow and appropriate approvals, and some administrative support for weekly/monthly tasks and projects. This position will interface with all departments of the organization. The candidate will need to demonstrate initiative and have a solid work ethic to fit within our team culture.
Enter data into ERP system (JDE) from an approved email or requisition for PO creation
Issue Purchase Order via electronic email, internet online ordering or telephone
Ensure approvals and purchase order documentation are archived appropriately for further audits
Engage with suppliers via telephone and email with strong confidence and authority
Review open PO report and ensure PO’s are received by suppliers; expedite past due purchase orders, and confirm upcoming deliveries to meet manufacturing needs and requirements
Identify PO issues and forwards to Buyers or Supply Chain Manager for resolution
Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring efficient and effective functioning of the work in Supply Chain / Purchasing & Logistics Department
Work on routine assignments that require some problem-solving skills
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Certificate from college or technical school or two years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
Purchasing/Inventory related experience preferred
Data entry experience with MRP/ERP web-based systems, JDE experience a plus
Data entry and data manipulation experience with Microsoft Excel
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, file directory navigation, ERP navigation, etc)
Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP/SUMPRODUCT Functions, Pivot Tables)
Demonstrated ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals Ability to read and understand procedures
Excellent communication skills both verbally and written to influence others outside and across the organization.
Must be very organized, able to work with strict deadlines, persistent in obtaining desired feedback from suppliers
Work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment
This position is a site-based role
