SCOPE OF ROLE:
This position is responsible for assembling and testing opto-mechanical and electro-optical components and helping as needed in all areas of assembly department. This position works in a clean room environment, additionally this position will need to have full understanding of working protocol in a class 100/1000 CR, associated cleaning techniques, monitoring of environment to ensure class 100 integrity and coordinate activates with the test department for product conformance to ATP along with proper packaging. Procedure writing and monitoring of process to ensure we are adhering to procedures is part of the job responsibilities.

Assemble doublet and triplet prisms
Assemble simple lens and barrel combination
Work in the clean room environment to manufacture optics
Cosmetic inspection of incoming and outgoing optical product
Measure lens characteristic (center thickness, diameter, etc)
Maintain a clean workstation
Input data to spreadsheet for engineering rebalance
Comply with health and safety policies and procedures
Follow production schedules as per ERP system (JD Edwards)
Perform simple assembly functions
Support company values including ethical conduct and high integrity in all actions
Collaborate with other departments to meet production goals
Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Associate degree in Optics or related field preferred
Certification in Optics Manufacturing or related field preferred
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing and clean room environment preferred
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Comply with the Clean Room Protocol
Use of basic mathematic principles, algebra, and geometry
Ability to work with minimal oversight
Ability to measure in metric and micron range
Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety roles and work instructions
Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
Strong written and oral communication skills
Detail-oriented, driven towards excellence
Excellent organizational skills
Basic problem-solving skills
Experience with MRP or ERP systems
Basic computer skills, such as Microsoft office and email
Collaborate with a variety of team members
