REPORTING TO: Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor

LOCATION: West Henrietta, NY


These positions may require lawful access to ITAR/EAR controlled information and employees in this role will need to meet those requirements. Requirements include US Citizenship or US Permanent Resident.

Join a team of passionate Engineers working to deliver next generation health care at a lower cost. As part of the Manufacturing Engineering team you will support Engineer’s moving technology from the concept and prototype phase to a high-quality, cost-effective production line. In this role you will develop your interpersonal and technical skills as you interact with people at all levels of the company including Manufacturing Engineers, production workers, R&D engineers, and Managers.

MISSION: Manufacturing Engineering Technician – Optical Filters

The Optical Filters Manufacturing Engineering Technician will be a key resource on our Manufacturing Engineering team supporting the Engineers sustaining and optimizing manufacturing processes, instructions, and training.


The B shift Manufacturing Engineering Technician will be part of the high-performance Manufacturing Engineering team to optimize existing processes, perform preventative maintenance on equipment, and process RMAs through evaluation and testing. This Technician is expected to provide support to our Manufacturing Engineering team troubleshooting manufacturing equipment, responding to manufacturing interruptions, documenting processes, and training production staff. The Technician will support root cause investigation and corrective action implementation for manufacturing problems arising in the Optical Filters value streams.

  • At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing capacity

  • Experience documenting Manufacturing Processes

  • Demonstrated training effectiveness of production staff on new or updated processes

  • Demonstrated ability to identify Process Improvements

  • Lean manufacturing and 5S training


  • At least 2 years Technical Associate Degree

  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and Microsoft Outlook

  • Demonstrated problem solving skills

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to interface with all levels of the organization

  • Organized, motivated, approachable and able to prioritize multiple tasks without direct supervision


  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization

  • Tasks completed on time with attention to detail

  • Effective training of production staff
