Position Summary:

IDEX/MPT is seeking to hire a Finance Manager at our facility located in Waterloo, Ontario responsible for financial planning and analysis functions. This rewarding role has the opportunity to work closely with business leadership to provide impactful financial information and drive business performance. MPT plays a leading role in critical pneumatic applications across healthcare, food, environmental and industrial markets and is well positioned for growth.

The Finance Manager will report directly to the Director of Finance, partnering on strategic business initiatives and providing insight into key operational performance and commercial metrics. Reports To: Finance Director

Essential Functions:

Position requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • Assists in the preparation of the monthly forecast and Quarterly Business Review for all functional areas of the business and related subsidiaries.

  • Participates in the annual strategic planning and budgeting processes including establishing assumptions, spreadsheet modeling, consolidation, analysis and presentation preparation.

  • Prepares ad-hoc financial analysis to support senior management decisions.

  • Monitors orders, sales, profit, and cash against the targets on a weekly basis.

  • Updates cost and expense trend reports, and analyzes variations ensuring alignment with the forecast.

  • Leads the design, development, deployment and maintenance of all internal FP&A Reports.

  • Responsible for Working Capital and department spending analysis.

  • Extracts financial data from various finance and information systems including OneStream and JDE as required.

  • Expected to advise the Director of Finance immediately of all errors, irregularities or significant adjustments or journal entries as they occur.

  • Lead costing analysis of new products / major product revisions.

  • Perform initial ROI analysis on major capital expenditures and coach non-finance managers on investment decisions.

  • Lead commercial finance analyses, supporting Business Line Leads and Commercial Team with detailed and timely analysis of customer/market performance.

  • Assist in leading annual 8020 and detailed “bottoms-up” P&L review, working cross functionally to understand resource allocation and make recommendations for change.

  • Other duties, as assigned

Education and/or Experience:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics and/or MBA required

  • Minimum of 4-7 years of financial planning & analysis experience required

  • Experience in preparing, analyzing, and implementing accounting and reporting requirements.

  • 4-7 years of finance / accounting experience in a manufacturing environment with close knowledge of inventory / cost accounting

  • Excellent computer and technological skills, including high proficiency in OneStream and Microsoft Office Applications preferred

Other Qualifications:

  • Leads and/or participates in special projects and assignments as required.

  • Maintains the professional standards of the Finance Department.
