SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

The Transportation Account Manager is responsible for identifying, targeting, prospecting, demonstrating, selling, and supporting BAND-IT customers across the North American vehicle industry. This position contributes to the development of strategic, marketing, and tactical plans to profitably grow sales of BAND-IT products for targeted applications across the global vehicle industry. In addition to managing customers within North America, the Account Manager will collaborate with global account managers to support customers with a multinational footprint, ensuring alignment and leveraging global strategies, capabilities, and synergies. The role is part of the Global Transportation Sales team, working closely with colleagues and counterparts worldwide. This is a remote position based in North America, with a preference for the Michigan/Midwest region.

REPORTING TO : Director of Automotive Sales

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify and communicate customer/market needs, recommending/developing solutions. Facilitate solution launch and project coordination.

  • Understand customer challenges to propose effective BAND-IT solutions and drive opportunity development.

  • Maintain, support, and grow existing North American Transportation accounts with a global perspective.

  • Conduct regular customer contact regarding the business relationship, ensuring satisfaction and proactive follow-up.

  • Report progress against key metrics (forecasts, budgets) using CRM and other tools.

  • Provide insightful reports on account performance and market feedback to relevant teams

  • Execute sales plans to acquire new customers and achieve targets.

  • Present BAND-IT solutions and capabilities to customers and prospects.

  • Develop pricing, quotations, and proposals considering costs and customer expectations.

  • Maintain product/technical knowledge and communicate it effectively.

  • Take ownership of on-site tool support, providing hands-on repair, setup, and maintenance, while directly resolving issues and equipping customers with necessary training

  • Contribute to SIOP with accurate sales forecasts based on deep customer understanding.

  • Ensure customer satisfaction after sales and production startup.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Engineering or Business Degree with at least 5 years’ experience in account management / sales to the Automotive markets. Vehicle OEM and / or Tier-One Supplier successful work experience is highly desired.

  • Proficient in “value selling” concepts and tools. Must be able to develop and effectively present value-added solutions as sales proposals to a variety of stakeholders / decision makers in the target companies.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects, tasks, and details simultaneously.

  • Proven ability to work remotely but in line with company guidelines, policies, processes, and plans.

  • Presentable; must convey professional image of self and the company.

  • Passionate in pursuing pro-active solutions for customers and the company.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Extensive travel within assigned geography. Travel up to 50% of time.

  • Lifting requirements are generally less than 10 lbs. Transport, set up and demonstrate company products including application tools, sample cases, trade show setup. Manual lifting could reach the company maximum of 50 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Home office.

  • Various hotels, trade shows, conventions, meetings, airports.

  • Various company and customer office, plant and warehouse.

  • Various transportation (company and rental vehicle, airplanes etc.).

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $94,600.00 - $142,000.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
