IDEX Manager, Commercial Operations in United States

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

To establish and lead the commercial strategy of the business unit and provide the appropriate sales and marketing tools necessary to exceed AOP. This role will develop the operational processes and functions which guide sales efforts across the organization.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement long-term commercial operations processes and strategies. This includes leading the implementation of new organizational sales structures, procedures to enable successful sales excellence implementation and training, new market penetration and growth strategies, process optimization, and channel partner management

  • Lead sales initiatives and growth strategies through identification and qualification of new market and new product application opportunities

  • Expand and optimize the channel partner network through identification and qualification of new distributors, and successful contract negotiation with new and existing distributors

  • Support the Director of Sales and Sales Managers to grow opportunity share in key accounts and leverage existing customer relationships to expand new product and service opportunities

  • Lead customer-driven solutions efforts within Key Accounts by partnering with stakeholders throughout operations, engineering, sales, finance, and other teams

  • Provide strategic commercial direction to inside sales and applications engineering operations, and ensure they have the appropriate tools, knowledge, and support to assist internal and external customers at the highest level

  • Create actionable sales strategies for new market penetration and product line sales initiatives through the creation and implementation of PVM’s, market maps, and LITE targets

  • Support the Director of Sales with sales excellence tools and training to develop the knowledge and skills of the sales team

  • Drive new product development through continued Voice of Customer exercises, competitive landscape analysis, and applications observed during new market penetration

  • Partner with the Director of Operations and Director of Sales to optimize and implement new back-end procedures to streamline the sales process and go-to-market strategies

  • Leverage customer relationships to maintain a high level of awareness and familiarity of key internal and external influencers (i.e., operations capabilities, economic shifts, compliance/regulatory issues, and relevant technology advances)

  • Collaborate with international Richter teams to formulate and implement holistic strategies to support strategic growth initiatives

  • Lead Customer Obsession and Digitalization initiatives, such as NPS implementation, Customer Journey Mapping, and 80/20 management for all commercial operations

  • Manage commercial and marketing resources in accordance with laid out commercial operating plans, company policies, and government and regulatory policies

  • Perform continuous market monitoring and impact analysis of needs, trends, compliance, and other key influencers; takes corrective action when appropriate

  • Join key industry associations and participate on committees, and engage customers and industry partners on social media

  • Other responsibilities or duties as needed or assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or related field

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in the rotating equipment or valves industries, sales experience preferred

  • Previous full or segmented P&L responsibilities

  • Sales or Operations Management experience

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%, including overnight stays

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Teams

  • Familiarity with ERP and CRM automation programs

  • Ability to effectively lead and participate in video conferences and maintain a high level of professionalism

WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to move within office and manufacturing complex, write by hand and keyboard, and perform general office functions

  • Ability to communicate by speech and hearing via phone, computer, and in person

  • Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use

  • General manufacturing, warehouse, and office environment

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate with customers, suppliers, and all levels of corporate and company personnel

  • Works closely with the Richter senior leadership team, other IDEX business units, IDEX Strategic Account Management organization, Product Engineering, Human Resources, Finance, and IT
