The CI Manager is responsible for continuous improvement initiatives by deploying a variety of lean tools, processes, and concepts that improve business performance. This role also facilitates associate involvement at all levels in continuous improvement activities. The CI manager will work with other business leaders to drive transactional and manufacturing improvements.
The role will oversee all lean activities to ensure coordinated progress toward the completion of Goal Deployment objectives. This individual will direct, coordinate, and actively participate in the Lean project ideation funnel, the evaluation, and ranking of projects, the project initiation and execution, and regular project tracking, updates, and visual posting.
Work with assigned functional leaders to establish priorities in line with Goal Deployment priorities.
Promote and facilitate diagnosis of flow of work and information (Value Stream Mapping) to identify improvement priorities.
Continue to evolve processes within the business with key leaders and ensure use of lean/CI tools in daily management.
Develop and deploy lean tools and growth tools throughout organization.
Create in-house lean expertise through training and certification of associates.
Perform benchmarking studies as required.
Drive identification and adoption of "best practice" from other IDEX business units.
Responsible for execution of lean calendar including kaizen funnel review, charter development and review, facilitation of lean events and thorough follow up of events to ensure successful completion.
Lead and facilitate kaizen events as needed.
Build an ecosystem of lean leaders allowing Micropump to be an exporter of talent.
Develop and effectively execute action plans and improvement targets.
Assist in development of goal deployment plan, annual operating plan, and KPIs; first and second levels.
Create and maintain project schedules and metric tracking.
Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, business, engineering discipline, or technical degree; or equivalent on-the-job experience required.
6+ years of production experience and hands-on experience running a department, plant, and/or value stream system.
Project management experience in a manufacturing environment; strong project management skills.
Demonstrated mastery of variety of lean and Six Sigma tools (value stream mapping, standard work, 5S, flow, pull, SMED, etc.).
Proven track record of leading lean initiatives to achieve business results.
Ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations from a "general manager's" point of view.
Strong ability to use business metrics to drive business results.
Exposure to and participation in wide variety of training environments.
Good writing and administrative skills, including current computer skills.
