IDEX Social Media Manager - Remote Role in Shelby, North Carolina

Summary

The Social Media Manager (remote role) serves as the implementer of social media content, creation and distribution across all social media channels. The Social Media Manager creates and/or leads the creation of all social media posts and activity with insights from the broader marketing team. Their primary objective is to “amplify the story” of IDEX’s family of brands and then engage with social media followers as they interact with that content. Essentially, the Social Media Manager is the primary champion of social funnel marketing; expanding the reach of IDEX’s content, attracting visitors to IDEX’s websites, generating leads, and nurturing those prospects into becoming customers.

Responsibilities

Manages and oversees all social media content. ● Ensures that the broader IDEX Fire & Safety marketing and content strategy is properly implemented on social media channels. ● Plans, develops, implements, and manages IDEX Fire and Safety Group’s social media strategy in order to increase online presence, improve marketing efforts, increase brand awareness, and subsequently increase sales. ● Creates and manages the overall social media content calendar as well as specific calendar items for each brand. ● Serves as principal copywriter of social media content; should be comfortable writing social posts that are as short as 140 characters or blogs over 200 words. ● Ensures that the brand voice remains consistent with broader marketing and the brand tone is appropriately applied to each individual social channel; must ensure that social content is relevant and appealing to each target audience. ● Works with designers to ensure content is informative and appealing. ● Participates in visual design strategies, and supports the development of brand identity and promotional strategies. ● Serves as primary point of contact for engagement with customers, target audience; replies to direct messages and posts (as needed). ● Defines the most important social media key performance indicators (in collaboration with the Director of Marketing and Marketing Manager: Analytics and Reporting). ● Measures the success of all social media campaigns by being able to dig into the data, assist with analyzing the data, and draw actionable insights (in conjunction with the Marketing Manager: Analytics and Reporting). ● Keeps current with the latest social media’s best practices, technologies, and trends. ● Identifies opportunities where social media could best be adapted as technology evolves as well as where activity needs to be adjusted. ● Educates and informs IDEX Fire & Safety employees on how they can help amplify social media posts, etc Collaborates with other marketing team members, sales, and product development teams (as needed).

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years experience in a social media management role particularly with experience in copywriting. ● Minimum of 2 years experience working within or collaborating with an organization’s marketing department. ● Must demonstrate exceptional communication skills, both in written and verbal form, particularly with an emphasis on amplifying the story. ● Must demonstrate a keen interest and competency in technology, particularly online technology, and relevant softwares. ● Editorial background is a plus. ● Working within a tech related field, particularly new product technology is a plus. ● Highly knowledgeable on the best social media practices; knowledgeable in the workings and navigation of key social media platforms. ● Excellent collaboration and communication skills are vitally necessary. ● Experience working in manufactured product related fields is a plus.
