The Product Manager plans, organizes, and controls an assigned product line from conceptual stages through product life cycles to optimize profit and meet marketing, financial, and corporate growth objectives. The Product Manager will identify, quantify, evaluate, and coordinate new and existing product opportunities to facilitate the process of the commercialization of new and re-designed products to defined markets. The Product Manager will also identify, evaluate, and quantify, evaluate current product line shortcomings, and facilitate the process of implementing processes to improve short comings. Manager will work with all functional internal groups and external customers to identify critical CTC’s, manage developmental timelines, review manufacturing and engineering requirements and implement IDEX best practices as it pertains to the new product development process and existing product improvement opportunities. Manage and execute the process of developing new products. Manage and execute the process of improving/re-defining existing products. This position may be remote located in Shelby, NC/Ocala, FL/Columbus, OH.

The principle responsibilities of the Product Manager shall include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Participate in overall global product strategy and product development initiatives through analysis of market research coordination for new and emerging products

  • Collaborate with wide variety of functional areas such as sales, engineering, marketing, manufacturing, and operations to develop product definitions responsive to customer needs and marketing opportunities

  • Coordinate product releases and market communication program

  • Provide sales training and support as required

  • Establish tactical pricing and margin-oriented strategies and lead time target strategy

  • Product configuration and market perception responsibility

  • Owner of product quality, warranty, and reliability

  • Establish and execute annual and three-year product plan

  • Establish and execute product cost targets and cost reduction plans

  • Develop competitive analysis and strategic positioning plan

  • Establish and execute product promotion strategy

  • Solicit and analyze customer feedback as it pertains to product performance, functionality, and value within served markets

  • Deploy 8020 to optimize and offer complexity and manage the life cycle

  • Formulate, execute, and maintain product line strategies, product plans and roadmaps based on market insight

  • Define, launch, and track all new offerings

  • Develop and execute product line marketing plans

  • Manage the offer development process and oversee development


  • B.S. in Engineering or related field – ME, ChE, or EE preferred

  • MBA Desired

  • 5+ Years of Experience

  • Broad Product and Market Knowledge


  • Time Management

  • Managing and Measuring Work

  • Rescue tool industry experience preferred

  • Product management experience in an industrial technology space

  • Mix of commercial and technical background and aptitude

  • Entrepreneurial spirit

  • Comfortable, capable, and ideally experienced in a global matrix environment

  • Background in new product development and product commercialization

  • Strong customer and market orientation – consistently seek to understand industry dynamics and customer drivers
