Summary: Lead the distribution management activity for assigned channel partners in Europe to improve growth and profitability. Responsible for providing day to day support to the customer service team in addition being the lead customer service representative to our European distributors. Responsible for understanding and interpreting customer requirements, developing relationships, and providing direct support and technical assistance. Generate, qualify, and follow up on new leads and assist the sales team in identifying high priority opportunities.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities :

  • Serve as main point of contact for all assigned accounts and proactively manage accounts by analyzing business and understanding challenges. Optimize how we serve their needs, including (but not limited to):

  • Reviews team activity/metrics to ensure effectiveness and a high level of customer service, and provides coaching and training where needed

  • Promotes teamwork and interfaces with cross-functional departments including operation, supply chain and shipping/logistics

  • Provides customer assistance with Order Entry, quoting, reporting, and system needs

  • Processes and enters incoming orders from assigned distributor accounts in an accurate and timely manner according to standard work (Contract Review)

  • Handles customer calls involving customer order information

  • Determine customer requirements to assist with product selection and recommend alternate products based on cost, availability and/or specifications to drive sales of core products.

  • Maintains general awareness of production and other factors affecting scheduling and delivery of orders.

  • Fully understand digital tools and drive customer utilization, while making recommendations for digital improvements to better serve our customers and improve responsiveness.

  • Maintain an effective follow-up system for all open and active inquiries to ensure timely and conclusive response to the customer.

  • Identify and capture product needs, quality concerns, market trends, and competitive intelligence based on direct customer feedback.

  • Support outside sales staff and customer service representatives as needed.

  • Participate in continuous improvement projects and activities.

Process Owner’s Requirements:

Education/Experience :

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in sales, customer service, inside sales, and/or technical field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Specific skills, knowledge, and/or licenses:

  • Must be customer focused and understand internal and external customer relationships.

  • Ability to work effectively on a team and interface with other business functions to gather accurate information for customer requests.

  • Ability to independently define and resolve problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions in a timely manner.

  • Detail oriented with the ability to maintain accurate records.

  • Excellent phone etiquette and demeanor.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment and be prepared to develop and execute strategies.

  • Aptitude for developing sales rapport via telephone and e-mail with key customer personnel involved in purchase decisions.

  • Technical aptitude with the ability to develop knowledge of hydraulics, AODD pumps, PD pumps, and pump applications.

  • Prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently and develops realistic action plans to handle multiple projects and task concurrently.

  • Self-starter who takes initiative to anticipate and prevent problems.

  • Pump experience and experience with JD Edwards a plus.
