IDEX Systems Support Specialist in Rutherford, New Jersey

PURPOSE:

Responsible for the installation, configuration, and repair, of desktop/laptop workstations in an internal and external user environment. Facilitate Help Desk operations to ensure service levels are met or exceeded. Train internal customers for the most efficient use of the company hardware and software. Provide high level of technical trouble shooting and problem solving to include all areas of the operational systems and network.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Installs\repair\configure desktop computers, laptop computers, all bar code related equipment including, scanners, printers, and handheld computers and peripheral equipment.

  • Install\repair\configure specialized software applications as required by user base.

  • Takes Help Desk tickets to ensure service levels are met or exceeded. Answers, evaluates, and prioritizes incoming telephone, voice mail, e-mail, and in-person requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, LAN/WAN and other computer-related technologies.

  • Learn current ERP system in time to assist in writing reports\powerBI dashboards

  • Assists and provides backup support for Network Administrator as needed.

  • Maintain logs of equipment. Recycle outdated equipment in a manner that is compliant with our environmental policy.

  • Additional duties as required

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Associates Degree or working towards degree in CIS\Computer Science or experience with demonstrated technical ability to diagnose problems, maintains, repair, install and configure PC hardware and software.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of PCs, LAN\WAN, printers, telecommunications, RF, Wireless and related interconnectivity.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Windows. PC applications, and database management.

  • Demonstrated technical ability to install and configure Windows software.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently or with outside vendors to facilitate the operation of multiple online computer systems located locally or remotely.

  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment, thinks independently, anticipates, and prevents problems

  • Mechanical aptitude and mental/physical/visual acuity, ability to do long-term repetitive work, excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, and ability to operate computers and use a variety of power and hand tools.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and bring to conclusion.

  • Employs effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Persons occupying this position will be expected to sign an Employee Inventions and Proprietary Information agreement.

  • While performing duties of the job, employee is required to move around; use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear

  • Employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
