SUMMARY:
Directs and coordinates activities of production department in processing materials or manufacturing products by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain production data such as types, quantities and specifications of products and schedules in order to plan department operations.
Plans production readiness, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specification.
Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
Develops or revises standard operational work instructions and practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
Resolves worker concerns or partners with HR for manager coaching.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include:
Directly supervises employees
Interviewing, hiring and training employees
Planning, assigning and directing work
Appraising performance
Performance Management activities
Addressing complaints and resolving problems
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Safety focused
Customer and quality focused
Experience with rotating equipment/machinery a plus
Proficiency and understanding and/or experience with mechanical machinery
Strong Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Sense of Urgency
Demonstrated ability to be a team player by actively participating in assigned teams as well as intercompany, cross-functional and/or special teams.
Demonstrated communications skills necessary to effectively interact with coworkers and outside contacts.
Project management and problem resolution skills
Experience in Lean Manufacturing
Possess computer skills required to be proficient in job requirements.
Lead and embrace Change/Flexibility
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Preferred Associates or Bachelor’s degree from and accredited college or university and 2 years related experience or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Travel required 10% of time.
