SUMMARY:

Directs and coordinates activities of production department in processing materials or manufacturing products by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain production data such as types, quantities and specifications of products and schedules in order to plan department operations.

• Plans production readiness, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.

• Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specification.

• Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.

• Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.

• Develops or revises standard operational work instructions and practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.

• Resolves worker concerns or partners with HR for manager coaching.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include:

• Directly supervises employees

• Interviewing, hiring and training employees

• Planning, assigning and directing work

• Appraising performance

• Performance Management activities

• Addressing complaints and resolving problems

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Safety focused

• Customer and quality focused

• Experience with rotating equipment/machinery a plus

• Proficiency and understanding and/or experience with mechanical machinery

• Strong Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

• Sense of Urgency

• Demonstrated ability to be a team player by actively participating in assigned teams as well as intercompany, cross-functional and/or special teams.

• Demonstrated communications skills necessary to effectively interact with coworkers and outside contacts.

• Project management and problem resolution skills

• Experience in Lean Manufacturing

• Possess computer skills required to be proficient in job requirements.

• Lead and embrace Change/Flexibility

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Preferred Associates or Bachelor’s degree from and accredited college or university and 2 years related experience or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience.
