IDEX Customer Service Representative in Rutherford, New Jersey

SUMMARY

The role of the Customer Service Representative is to process incoming orders while supplying sales & key customer base with information including shipping dates, delays, unit price and handling/escalating complaints. The Customer Service Representative is a high energy communicator and problem solver whose goal is to provide best-in-class customer service. Their customer relationships are built on respect, integrity, cooperation, teamwork and professionalism.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicate with internal and external customers by email and phone to resolve customer inquiries and Sales Orders. Sets clear expectations by providing accurate information and transparent communication.

  • Works with team members to ensure all pieces of order are present. Edits orders received for price and nomenclature. Informs customer of unit prices, shipping date, anticipated delays and additional information needed. Records or files copy of orders received according to expected delivery date. Enters orders into business system.

  • Collaborates with Supply Chain and Purchasing to update existing orders to reflect projected ship dates

  • Assist quality and sales in transacting RMA returns for repair and credit

  • Multitasks between multiple tools and systems (knowledge base, team meetings, supervisor) and applies information and knowledge to customer situations.

  • Manages customer account records by updating information.

  • Provides phone support for incoming calls.

  • Other related duties as required

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Associate’s degree preferred.

  • 4+ years of work experience in a Customer Service role.

  • Excellent computer skills. Microsoft Office Applications and ERP System experience (JDE) required.

  • Clear, precise communication skills and ability to communicate at all levels within the organization.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, and ability to priotitize.

  • Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency and follow up skills.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical abilities.

  • Works effectively in a team environment; both with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Consistently operates at the highest level of integrity and is never willing to compromise with regards to ethical standards.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic and high transaction environment, with the ability to maintain composure in stressful situations .

  • While performing duties of the job, employee is required to move around and be still; use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.

  • Employee will occasionally lift average of 30 lbs.

  • Office working environment with occasional visits to the factory floor.

  • Required to wear safety glasses and utilize other safety equipment as required while present on the shop floor.

  • Noise level is minimal with intervals of spikes.
