Position Summary: The Quality Assurance Engineer reports to the Quality & Compliance Leader and has primary responsibility to ensure that quality product is manufactured according to established standards and that customer requirements are met. This includes conducting audits of production parts and processes, leading efforts in resolving customer complaints, leading the corrective action process, and actively improving supplier performance.

Principle Duties :

  • Leads teams in problem solving and process improvement for customer complaints through investigation of root cause, identification of counter measures and follow up on sustainment

  • Facilitate Corrective action team; coordinates meetings to discuss solutions and results. Maintains internal reports on Correction action Process; summarizes data and reports results to management

  • Participates in supplier evaluations.Manage Supplier Corrective Actions and Supplier Improvement activities.Work with vendors to resolve product quality issues

  • Facilitates the non-conforming material process and dispositions suspect/non-conforming product

  • Conducts process audits in various manufacturing departments to ensure that operators are producing parts to specifications and following established procedures.Documents observations and presents findings and action items to the management team.Follows-up on action item completion and ensures sustainment

  • Creates and documents standard work process and visual aids

  • Serves on interdepartmental teams to represent quality interests

  • Administration of the established calibration system, identify and obtain new tooling or gages required

  • Work with Inspection on quality issues

  • Identify and implement improvements to the established Quality Management System


Required Qualifications :

  • 3 years of experience as a quality engineer in a manufacturing environment

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or similar field of study. ASQ Certification(s) desired.

  • Experience with manufacturing and quality tools including

  • FMEA, Corrective Action Process, RCCM, PDCA

  • Experience with ISO9001 certification and auditing internal processes

  • Supplier quality experience, including Supplier Audits in a Global Supply Chain

  • Willing to travel 10-15% internationally and domestically

  • Physical Demands

  • Approximately 60% of the time will be spent on the manufacturing floor

  • Lifting requirements are generally less than 25 lbs.Lifting could occasionally reach the company maximum of 40 lbs.

Required Skills/Competencies :

  • Strong written/verbal communication skills

  • Technical skills with the ability to read drawings including understanding of GD&T and strong understanding of the manufacturing process of components

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem solving skills

  • Collaboration with cross functional teams

  • Project Management

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Access, MS Powerpoint, MS Word or equivalent

  • Experience in MRP Systems (JDE preferred)
