Position Summary
Looking for an enthusiastic and driven Accounting or Finance student who is interested in gaining practical experience in a manufacturing environment. This internship will provide hands on experience with a Cost Accounting and Operations FP&A focus. Key tasks include product costing, supporting the annual SOX audit, assisting with financial forecast and template creation for Revenue to Gross Margin, as well as working cross functionally with the Operations and Supply Chain teams at Pulsafeeder. You will also learn profit & loss statement management as you assist with month end closing responsibilities. This internship will gain exposure to both Accounting and FP&A in a manufacturing environment, so it is a great opportunity for a student who is interested in both fields or who wants to learn more about both areas.
Essential Functions
Cost Accounting
Report on daily receipts and tracking to inventory forecast for the month in Daily Management Meetings
Calculate and report Utilization metrics for Daily Management
Complete cost rolls as needed to help maintain appropriate standard costing of inventory
Help update monthly and quarterly forecasts as it relates to Gross Profit
SOX Controls
Assist in annual internal audit by gathering support needs for assigned controls
Partner with the Accounting/Finance team at month end by completing monthly SOX controls
Business Partnership
Partner with Operations team to drive achievement of monthly sales target
Partner with manufacturing and supply chain leaders to plan for appropriate inventory levels to meet customer lead time requirements and meet inventory turn expectations
Create cost forecast templates for assigned departments, working with SLT and NLL to review expense trends and forecast upcoming discretionary expenses
Month End / P&L Reporting
Supports the regular financial processes for the business including closing the books, forecasting, planning, reporting, and analysis of results with focus on Revenue to Gross Margin
Help the Accounting team create journal entries in the JD Edwards system and ensure proper documentation is available
Review the monthly results vs forecast with the team and identify main drivers of variances
Assist in deeper dive of account activity when needed by pulling support and reviewing all activity
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must possess good organizational, communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
Be able to manage multiple projects
Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office
Students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Basic knowledge in finance/accounting
Degree with any of these subjects is acceptable
Physical Environment and Environmental Factors
Regularly works in an office setting.
Frequently required to stand, sit, talk, and hear
Must be able to work in front of a computer for a large portion of the day
May occasionally lift to 20lbs
Timeline:
Summer internship, flexible based on school requirements.
Compensation:
Compensation: This position is classified as hourly, non-exempt, with a pay range of $20.00 - $21.00 per hour

Total Rewards
The compensation range for this position is $32,500.00 - $48,700.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
