The Market Development Manager – Growth will have primary responsibility of actively seeking new business opportunities by researching and vetting new adjacent markets in the Advanced Flow Solutions business. Included in this set of responsibilities is the exploration of new market segments, business case formulation and prioritization, and working closely with commercial leadership to complement and augment the current portfolio of AFS products. This role has a significant responsibility in ensuring key business targets are achieved with potential pathway to future leadership positions.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities
Collects and analyzes market, customer and competitive intelligence data from external and internal sources
Develop comprehensive understanding of market and technology trends and maintain thorough competitive analysis for the global market through end user visits, focus groups and market research
Systematically understands and maps new domains, adjacencies where AFS can win accretive high-value sales and plan what is required to do so: different promotion approaches / audiences, new products, new technologies, strategic partnerships, new business models
Advances appropriate business development activities to pass to corporate acquisition team
Integrate all findings to create cohesive business cases for senior leadership review – strong emphasis on business impact
Supports commercial leadership to develop strategies for key markets and ensures marketing plans align with these strategies
Collaborate with Commercial Leadership Team to manage and maintain a pipeline of market/segment/product opportunities
Establish relationships within targeted organizations enabling business development conversations and meetings
Miscellaneous and Other

Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company
Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description, and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output
Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety to self and co-workers
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Industrial Technology, or Engineering, or related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing and/or product management with strong marketing focus required.
Strong commercial aptitutde
Clear and concise communication skills with all levels of the organization
Ability to lead and interact with cross functional teams and end customers via multiple channels
Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
Demonstrated experience using data to driven optimization decisions
Demonstrate a consistent, dependable and positive work ethic
Critical thinking and problem solving ability: synthesize findings from analysis and draw conclusions
Demonstrated knowledge of key financial metrics and business case development
Strong project management skills, solid analytical skills and attention to detail
Willingness to travel up to 40%
Preferred Education and Experience
Master’s in Business Administration
Experience in market adjacency discovery and research
Minimum of 7 years of market development management experience
Industrial sales experience a plus

Exposure to manufacturing environment. Noise level may vary from moderate office environment to noisy/loud in the plant area. Proper use of safety equipment such as steel-toed shoes, goggles, safety glasses, gloves, apron and face shield must be observed.
