Overall Purpose

A successful Technical Writer/Inside Sales Specialist will be an individual interested in a career in an environmental services organization with growth potential within the sales organization. The candidate will have excellent writing skills and the ability to generate technical documents, including proposals with content including technical specifications, organization charts, resumes, references, and contract documentation. The Candidate will need to be a fast learner, highly motivated, and willing to travel. The Technical Writer/Inside Sales Specialist would primarily work remotely.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop boilerplate proposal content in support of ADS and ADS ETI proposals. Keep boilerplate content up to date as products and software are developed and modified.

• Provide content as called upon, as well as review and edit proposals to meet ADS high quality proposal standards.

• Develop as needed and keep resumes, organization charts, reference lists, and other standard documents up to date for use in proposals.

• Generate quotations, primarily <$10,000, in support of the Business Development Managers (BDM) and the Regional Sales Managers (RSM).

• Generate PRISM and SIMs renewal quotations and communicate as necessary with customers.

• Update CRM for all projects and opportunities quoted by the ISS.

• Participate in local industry associations and trade shows as directed by the RSM.

• Contacting and triaging requests for info from various sources, including our website, webinars, ads, and marketing lists.

• Contacting both current and new DIY customers to assist them in purchasing items – adding more to their current pool of equipment as well as purchasing equipment for new monitoring opportunities.

• Review and red-line contract terms and conditions as needed under the supervision and guidance from the Contracts Administrator.

• Following up on DEK, credit checks, and job numbers after contracting paperwork has been submitted.

• Participate in lead qualification process for sales leads received from various platforms including GovSpend and Citylitics

• Abide by on-the-job site safety requirements.

• Complete Special Projects as requested.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in English or equivalent work experience as a technical writer or editor

• 1-5 yrs experience performing technical writing and editing

• Ability to utilize virtual presentation technology

• Highly organized with excellent follow up skills

• Excellent written and oral communication skills required, with exceptional listening skills

• Ability to build relationships and work well across functions with a strong focus on communication skills

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)

• Effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines with a strong attention to detail

• Valid driver’s license
