The Region Engineer leads the engineering, technical oversight and quality assurance for project deliverables for assigned territory. This position also works with other engineers and regions to achieve corporate goals for quality, engineering support and business success. This position has primary responsibility for driving overall technical quality of our work product, conducting hydraulic analyses, writing reports for project deliverables, and writing and presenting industry leading technical papers and presentations at trade shows and in trade journals. The Region Engineer will work closely with Engineers, Data Analysts and with Regional Project Management to create reports that answer customer’s most pressing needs for collection system management.
Supervises plans, develops, coordinates and directs engineering and technical aspects of all projects in a specified region or regions.
Typical projects include Infiltration and Inflow Analyses, Capacity Analyses and Recommendations, Sewer System Evaluation Surveys, and other reports, as well as proposals, plans, specifications, and research investigations.
Represents ADS as the Engineer of Record in Responsible Charge for States where ADS has a Certificate of Authorization to perform engineering services.
Develops strategies for providing engineering services for 80’s and 20’s customers.
Plays a key role in adoption of new software applications by sales and operations teams.
Displays sound business and financial acumen.
Supervises, trains, coordinates, and reviews the work of assigned Project Engineers.
Estimates engineering labor needs and schedules and assigns/performs work to meet completion date.
Provides quality assurance and technical oversight for the work of assigned data analysts as needed.
Works closely with sales managers and project managers to develop projects and recommend technical strategies for major or significant clients.
Provides technical support to sales for proposal generation, content, methodology and graphical presentation as needed.
Works closely with other engineering elements to develop and optimize data presentation, data analysis, and data reporting techniques and methods.
Responsible for assisting ADS to ensure Its reputation as the industry leader by writing and presenting approved technical papers at national and local trade shows and trade journals.
Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.
Performs work which involves conventional practice but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements or difficult coordination requirements.
Assists in the specification of information products and accompanying software tools.
This includes working closely with ADS Product Management in the development of new methods for delivering information electronically.
Completes special projects as requested.
Strong technical writing and technical presentation skills are a must.
Computer literacy and analytical skills are required.
Ability to lead and manage multiple direct reports is required.
Must be an active member and participant of technical and professional societies (member grade or equivalent).
Must have experience writing technical papers and delivering presentations to key customers.
Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) accredited curriculum.
A Master’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering is strongly preferred.
Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) is required.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in civil/wastewater engineering preferred.
