POSITION SUMMARY
“The Buyer/Planner position is for US Valve located in Linthicum, MD. Established in 1999 out of the growing needs of valves at Airtech Vacuum Inc., we are a manufacturer of elastomer hinge check valves, dual disc check valves and medical ball valves sold through the US Valve and Techno Check Valves brands. We are best known for having the lowest pressure drop designs available. ISO 9001:2015 certified.

The Buyer/Planner is an entry to intermediate-level role within the supply chain team. This role will effectively procure components and maintain adequate stock to meet stated inventory goals while achieving production schedules that support business objectives. The buyer/planner will be responsible for the spend within their assigned business segment and communicate status updates to leaders across the organization. To be successful, the buyer will need to have basic ERP knowledge, analytical skills and clearly communicate to external & internal stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Owns all functions of the supply chain for their assigned business segment, including issuing of purchase orders, using MRP, reviewing scrap reports, and managing debit memos/delivery receipts.
Negotiate annual pricing to reduce purchasing cost by $50k by end of year.
Taught, comprehend and utilizes the 80/20 concept of Plan For Every Part (PFEP) to determine safety stock levels through detailed analytics and implements plans to replenish inventory.
Lead weekly production meetings and communicate with sales and production to make sure we keep a 98% OTD to top customers
Maintain and own SIOP (sales, inventory & operations planning) process for designated key markets
Takes action to expedite parts as needed to support customer demand.
Monitors metrics on Open POs, Receipts, Inventory Turns and takes action to optimize levels
Communicates with vendors on performance and escalates significant supply chain risks or opportunities.
Be a key contributor for cycle counting and yearly physical inventory
Complete unique projects as needed

Basic skills in Microsoft Excel and a working knowledge of MS Word, and MS Outlook.
Basic knowledge of ERP Systems (J.D. Edwards preferred)
Solid analytic and mathematical capabilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a larger team
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
5 years of relevant experience in purchasing, sourcing, or finance required Bachelor’s degree from four-year university or equivalent experience

Total Rewards
The compensation range for this position is $63,700.00 - $95,500.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
