SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITES:
Organize and lead the optimization of the quality program towards continuously improving productivity, supplier excellence, and customer satisfaction. Supervise and maintain control of Quality of product both internal and external. Responsible for maintaining and assuring adherence to the Quality Management, including serving as the Management representative during ISO audits and ensuring procedures are maintained properly. Drive process improvements around KPI metrics—scrap, internal/external PPM, first pass yield, and warranty.
REPORTING TO : Manager of Operations
Leverages engineering and manufacturing knowledge to drive corrective actions for root cause analysis with a focus on both supplier quality and internal manufacturing. Acts as a technical expert for assessment of materials issues and machining practices.
Implement and sustain a non-conforming process to streamline and expedite resolution of issues.
Improve ISO Quality Management System by ensuring compliance through internal audits, leading management review, and effectively managing the Quality relationship with intercompany suppliers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Promote a continuous improvement mindset in the organization.
Maintain and continually drive improvement through the ISO Quality Management System (QMS).
Report to top management on the performance of the QMS, provide recommendations for improvement, and partner effectively with related parties to implement and sustain improvements.
Implement or direct internal audits for compliance with ISO-9000 Quality System procedures.
Ensure the promotion of awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization.
Work with purchasing staff to establish and maintain quality requirements from external suppliers.
Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, manuals or other documentation to determine product conformance requirements.
Perform comparative analysis using measuring devices, accompanying certifications, etc. to measure products to requirements.
Record and mark product deficiencies and maintain accountability system.
Monitor and audit first piece and production run quality of all in house manufactured products.
Maintain QA department procedures and Receiving Inspection procedures.
Create and maintain CMM programs. Responsible for maintenance of the CMM, the CMM computer and the climate controlled CMM room.

Understanding of engineering drawings. Must understand tolerances, finish call outs and geometric tolerance call outs.
Understanding of both the English (inch) and metric (millimeter) measurement systems.
Understanding the use of precision measurement devices such as micrometers and bore gages.
Must be capable of both speaking and reading the English language proficiently.
Must be capable of performing basic mathematical calculations, (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.)
Must understand basic machining of metal parts.
Must be capable of lifting up to 40 lbs. independently
Proficient in the use of desk top computer software including Microsoft Office.
Prefer proficiency in the use of the Starrett CMM and accompanying software.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or a minimum of 4 years of equivalent experience.
Black Belt or Green Belt Certification preferred
ISO 9000 Trained Auditor preferred
Highly skilled at evaluating and driving to solutions for complex problems, preferred experience to include: RCCM, PCDA, MSA, FMEA, PPAP, APQR
5 years prior experience in Quality Assurance for consumer product manufacturer.
Demonstrated exceptional written and oral communication skills.
