Job Description

The IDEX Financial Development Program (iFDP) is a two year rotational program designed to expose the candidate to multiple finance and accounting disciplines with a particular emphasis on cost accounting in a manufacturing environment. The rotations are designed to develop real world skills in the areas of cost accounting, financial analysis and reporting, corporate accounting, and internal audit. Participants will develop competencies around problem solving / analysis, technical skills, business knowledge, teamwork, and leadership. Training will consist of both formal training around the IDEX Operating Model and financial systems, on the-job training specific to the assignment, and a mentor throughout the program to provide guidance and counseling on progress, performance, and career path. Finishing the program, candidates will have developed the skills, knowledge of the IDEX Operating Model, and an expanded network of contacts to find a permanent position throughout IDEX’s network of business units across the globe.

  • Year One:

  • 2 six month rotations. One corporate assignment at our Global HQ in Lake Forest, IL. One six month rotation within the internal audit team in Downtown Chicago.

  • Introduction the IDEX Operating Model

  • Building the foundational tools needed for finance & accounting

  • Formal mentorship partnership from senior finance leaders

  • Formal feedback process to enhance development

  • Year Two:

  • Hands on field experience at one of our business units

  • Develop in depth technical skills

  • Interaction with the business leadership teams

  • Participate in project teams focused on strategic growth initiatives and productivity enhancements

  • Continued mentorship and feedback

  • Post Program:

  • Potential for placement into targeted senior staff analyst roles

  • Receive program completion equity incentive

  • Maintain mentorship relationship during your transition into a full-time position

  • Help shape the iFDP program for future participants


  • Year One -Six months at Global HQ in Lake Forest, IL and six months within internal audit team in Downtown Chicago.

  • Year Two -Field manufacturing assignment at an IDEX facility within the Midwest region of the US. ** This requires relocation to the business Unit, relocation assistance provided.



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics or other Business Related degree. Graduating in Spring 2017.

  • 3.0 GPA or better.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience at work or at school.

  • Authorization to work in the US on a permanent full-time basis is required as well as the ability to relocate during the program.
