Job Summary
ADS LLC is seeking a Staff Accountant in the Huntsville, Alabama, corporate office. The Staff Accountant supports the Accounting organization in carrying out responsibilities that help meet the responsibilities and goals of the Company. ADS LLC is a high-paced dynamic environment.
Job Responsibilities
Facility leases – review of common area maintenance / misc. charges to leases
CoStar facility administration and journal entries
Fixed Asset Administration
Annual Fixed Asset audits
Property Tax filings
Consolidated Capital Expense monthly spreadsheet for OneStream reporting
Monthly bad debt calculation and review
Consolidated Monthly AR aging / bad debt spreadsheet for OneStream reporting
Monthly administration, recording and reconciliation of IDEX intercompany account
Monthly Inventory reconciliations, journal entries and PO commitment reporting and review
Monthly administration, preparation of Inventory and Service related intercompany invoices from US to Canada
Preparation of month end journal entries
Preparation of monthly account reconciliations as assigned
Preparation of monthly budget vs actual reporting
Back-up for Payroll processing
Backup for Accounts Payable processing
Backup for Canada Staff Accountant
Monthly / quarterly sales tax reporting
Assists in preparing and completing monthly, quarterly, and yearly internal corporate reporting requirements
Participates in and ensures SOX Section 404 compliance
Participate in system upgrades and testing
Support internal and external audits as required
Special projects / Ad Hoc reporting as assigned including process improvements, new reports to streamline reviews
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must be a strong team player.
Demonstrates a solid understanding of GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley.
Ability to problem solve in an automated Accounting environment.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Must have the ability to multi-task with a strong attention to detail.
Effective written and verbal communication skills with a strong emphasis on customer service.
Must be able to work efficiently and effectively, know-how to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Education and Experience
Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting or Finance is required
1-7 years of experience in Accounting
Previous experience in GAAP and SOX environment preferred
Experience with CostPoint products is desirable
Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required (Vlookup, PivotTables)
Experience with report writing (Cognos, Access) is desirable
