Overall Purpose of the Position/Function
The Regional Manager is responsible for the effective planning, delegating, coordinating, staffing, organizing, and decision making to attain desirable safety, revenue, and profit targets for the assigned region. He/she has direct responsibility for the safety, quality, and customer satisfaction for work performed in the region. The Regional Manager has full technical and personnel responsibility for interpreting, organizing, forecasting, executing and coordinating the operations and engineering functions for the region. The Regional Manager must work closely with Business Development Managers (BDMs) and Regional Sales Managers (RSMs).
Responsible for driving regional sales and profit growth through successful leadership, organizational plans, customer service, and outstanding execution of all regional sales and operations. Responsible for consistently and effectively communicating the Company’s strategy and objectives to all operations and sales teams within assigned region. Determine staffing requirements. Hire and retain a skilled workforce to include recruiting, training and building a team environment. Ensure the development and achievement of regional revenue and profit commitments. Develop the operating plan, budget and capital expenditure for the region and ensure that each is updated periodically to reflect changing conditions during the year. Track, manage, and forecast revenue, costs and resources on a monthly basis. Represent the company in the region to suppliers, customers, and statutory bodies so as to promote the products, services, and activities of the organization. Ensure all projects within the territory are completed within budget and on schedule. Set high expectations for excellent customer service and hold the management team accountable to the measurable results associated. Ensure the highest level of project performance through the use of project work plans and necessary project reviews on projects within the region. Review, modify and approve project pricing developed by the project managers in the region. Support and participate in the development of and compliance with corporate policies, procedures, decisions and activities. Complete special projects as requested.
Strong leadership skills. Ability to manage and develop employees. Strong financial and analytical reasoning. Computer efficiency is required. Strong written and communication skills a must. Must be results and multi-task oriented, a team player, and have the ability to establish the need for process improvements when necessary. The position will be responsible for a combined revenue volume between $8 and $15 Million.
BS degree in Civil Engineering, business management or equivalent is required. Graduate degree in business or engineering is a plus. Minimum 15 years of experience in Operations Management with P&L responsibility preferred. Minimum of 10 years of experience managing projects exceeding $1M/year in revenue. Progressive background in civil/wastewater industry preferred. Wastewater Collection Systems knowledge is essential.
