IDEX Regional Sales Manager in Houston, Texas

The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) oversees an assigned geographic territory and set of direct customer accounts. While accounts are typically end users, this position may also involve managing agents or other partner relationships. The RSM is responsible for achieving sales volume targets by supporting the customer, closing large orders, assisting in trade show events, identifying areas of growth, and developing business relationships with current and new customers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develops a technical understanding of FMD’s products to assist customer technical teams

  • Generates leads and secures opportunities by explaining FMD’s technical advantage over competitors

  • Collaborates with the senior leadership team to establish and execute a sales goal

  • Assists in forecasting annual, quarterly, and monthly sales goals

  • Manages customers and implements strategic plans that are in alignment with FMD’s strategy and vision to grow business

  • Direct account management of key customers as assigned by management

  • Serve as the primary contact for assigned customers/region

  • Collect and manage customer project activity in a weekly project report out to management

  • Will act as the liaison between the customer and Flow MD customer service when needed

  • Conducts training and/or facilitates training of customers

  • Coordinates customer exhibitions, seminars, and design-oriented meetings

  • Works closely with management and other departments concerning demos, literature, and field communication releases

  • Helps identify and pursue the development of new market or product opportunities

  • Establish and maintain effective communication flow within the Sales, Customer Service, and Field Service departments

  • Evaluate market trends and gather competitive information affecting current and future growth

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the following: Sales, Marketing, Engineering, or Technical Degree

  • Minimum five (5) years experience in Technical Sales within the Measurement or Oil & Gas Industry

  • Demonstrated record of achievement in a prior sales position

  • Aptitude for balancing customer’s desires while also understanding FMD’s business principles

  • Strong interpersonal skills - Proven oral, written, telephone, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to learn and retain product-specific information and utilize it to feature to customers

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and experience with Microsoft Dynamics a plus.

  • The ideal candidate will be located in and/or around the Houston, TX metropolitan area. The business will also consider candidates who are located in Oklahoma and/or West Texas, but you will need to travel 75-80% of the time if you are not located in the Houston metropolitan area.
