This position will be the Operational Leader for Knight LLC. This role will be based in El Paso, TX, and includes daily travel to and leadership of our manufacturing site in Juarez, Mexico. This position is responsible for achieving employee safety objectives, driving improved product quality, and delivery, while reducing product costs through OPEX processes. Additionally, this position will provide leadership to functional groups to meet customer requirements including driving a highly engaged, high‐performance, and sustainable culture capable of achieving the business objectives, action plans and targets. The Director of Manufacturing will model expected behaviors for their team by adhering to the Company’s regulatory mandates and upholding the highest ethical standards, abiding by the IDEX Standards of Conduct and Business Ethics Policy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, direction and drive accountability for all operations and functions including manufacturing, operational excellence, and EHS.

  • Develop and deploy a 3 year operational strategy that aligns and supports the business strategy.

  • Drive alignment throughout the organization by providing clarity on critical objectives and through effective communication.

  • Review, maintain, control, implement corrective actions, and regularly report on the financial progress of the plant within the assigned group to maintain profit plan expectations and ensure incremental performance.

  • Coordinate and direct through managers, all functions of facility operations, including but not limited to: manufacturing, asset utilization, inventory control, facilities control, building layout and construction, maintenance, manufacturing projects and studies, cost controls, labor utilization, work standards and administration.

  • Champion implementation and adherence to IDEX Operating Model.

  • Drive customer satisfaction, cost of quality, inventory, productivity, organizational development, manufacturing profit and other operational metrics of the facility.

  • Create and maintain productivity funnels for operational excellence.

  • Able to achieve company goal of 98% OTD to customer request date.

  • Support of R&D Initiatives including manufacturability evaluations, manufacturing hand-off, and product launch strategies.

  • Ensure compliance with all government, financial, environmental, and labor regulations as required.

  • Ensure that policies, procedures, and initiatives are implemented and followed.

  • Provide leadership and commitment in support of continuous improvements in quality, productivity, and delivery performance.

  • Working in partnership with the Commercial leader, ensure Customer needs are being met.


Leadership Experience Requirements:

  • Must be able to drive cross functional communication, collaboration, and alignment.

  • 5 or more years of manufacturing experience.

  • Experience effectively managing multiple manufacturing sites.

  • Ability to communicate written and verbally with employees in Spanish preferred.

  • Able to attract and hire top talent.

  • Proven track record of developing and leading successful teams (preferably global teams with a track record of exporting talent to other sites).

  • Proven ability to swiftly identify issues and demonstrated success in implementing innovative and insightful solutions, with sustained results.

  • High standard of business ethics.

  • Self-motivated; high bias for action.

  • Strong business acumen.

  • Lean, Six Sigma, and Theory of Constraints certifications preferred.

  • Strong managerial, communication, analytical and procedural skills.

  • Willingness and ability to implement effective change management.
