Overview :

Matcon, a division of IDEX MPT Inc, has been providing powder handling solutions for the processing of powders, granules and tablets using Intermediate Bulk Container technology for over 40 years. Matcon operates globally across a range of manufacturing industries, including food, nutrition, pharmaceutical, chemical and metal powders.

The Installation & Commissioning Engineer role is required to support the business in ensuring all equipment sold is installed and commissioned correctly, on time and within budget observing best practice in H&S, Quality and Environmental factors ensuring our customers have the best experience.

Location:

UK based but able to attend Head Office in Evesham, Worcestershire as and when required.

Responsibilities:

  • To undertake Site Installation, Commissioning, Training, Handover and Start-up activities on a project-by-project basis.

  • To undertake problem solving and troubleshooting skills as part of normal commissioning duties.

  • To professionally report project progress and current status to internal and external stakeholders.

Job Functions:

  • To liaise with internal and external stakeholders during course of their duties to satisfy project needs and deliver the project benefits.

  • To maintain (and action) agreed site ‘punch lists’ to satisfy project requirements.

  • Liaise with customers on site interfaces to complete the scope of work.

  • Report any issues with the products design or installation to internal relevant owners.

  • Maintain a ‘Site Diary’ detailing activities and key events during the course of the project.

  • Complete a thorough and detailed Commissioning / Handover Report upon project completion.

  • Ensure weekly time sheets & expenses are submitted in a timely manner.

  • Attend site in a professional manner at all times.

Key Attributes/competencies:

  • An excellent communicator (both written and verbal) with at least 5 years relevant experience gained within a general process environment.

  • Excellent customer facing communication able to properly represent the company

  • Familiar with producing point of work Risk Assessments and Method Statements

  • Self-motivated, can work on own initiative and as part of a team.

  • Enthusiastic, well organised and has an attention for detail.

  • Able to travel Internationally for extended periods overseas.

  • Previous experience of project work overseas (including Europe, Asia, Americas).

  • Competencies sought including: -

  • Sound understanding of mechanical engineering principals.

  • Sound understanding of controls & instrumentation (including pneumatics).

  • Fair understanding of PLC hardware and software integration (such as Rockwell, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Beckhoff & BNR).

  • Proven ability to undertake essential H&S Management.
