IDEX Material Handler I in Denver, Colorado

The Material Handler 1 manages the flow of materials, products, and supplies throughout the facility, including all supporting inventory transactions. The Material Handler 1 ensures that primary stocking locations are maintained, and Kanban strategies are supported. Additionally, the Material Handler 1 routes all scrap and waste processing through the appropriate waste streams.

REPORTING TO : Production Supervisor


  • Adheres to all company EH&S policies and procedures

  • Ability to find, read and understand all applicable written (English) instructions, including work orders, Lot Control, and Bills of Material (BOM)

  • Ability to become a certified Powered Industrial Truck, crane, and hoist operator within 1 month of hire date

  • Ability to inspect and operate all Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT), overhead cranes, and hoists

  • Deliver and retrieve materials based on standardized “Tugger” routes through the factory at a pitch attainment rate of 75% or higher based on production target(s)

  • Understand and execute necessary material transactions using RFSmart, including transfers, issues, and returns

  • Recognizes when to escalate appropriate or specific situations to the next level via Help Chain, Root Cause Countermeasure (RCCM)

  • Understands how to locate and follow standard Work Instructions (WIs)

  • Exhibits behavior in alignment with BAND-IT-IDEX Core Values of Trust, Team, and Excellence

  • Clearly communicates important safety, quality, and delivery information in shift handoff meetings (Gemba Meetings)

  • Maintains paperwork as required

  • Participates in the continuous improvement process by attending meetings and presenting problems and possible solutions to the appropriate personnel.

  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance

  • Basic familiarity with computers

  • Basic Math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)

  • Knowledge of the operation of material handling equipment

  • Ability to pass BAND-IT’s Powered Industrial Truck and Crane/Hoist certification within 30 days


High School Diploma or GED + two (2) years of Powered Industrial Truck experience

Physical Demands:

  • Majority of the time is divided between standing, stooping, and walking.

  • Lifting requirements are generally less than 25 lbs. Manual lifting could reach the company maximum of 35 lbs.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to moving, mechanical parts approximately 70% of the time

  • Noise exposure is moderate

  • Daily exposure to outdoor weather conditions

Mental/Visual Demands:

  • Close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are necessary to perform the job functions

  • Close vision is required for reading applicable paperwork, generating labels, and labeling shipments.

  • Distance vision is required for picking orders and operating material handling equipment

  • Peripheral vision is required for safety due to traffic in warehouse

  • Depth perception is required for operating powered industrial trucks

  • The estimated compensation for this position is $19.00 - $27.1 per hour

  • This position may be eligible for an $1000.00 sign on bonus
