Scope of role:

The ideal candidate shows good judgement and instinct in decision making with a drive for continual improvement of business operations and trade compliance awareness.


Outside Supplier Process / Buyer:

  • Manage OSP work orders and coordinate movement of material to and from outside suppliers.

  • Reconcile inventory between outside supplier location and the JD Edwards system.

  • Partner with outside supplier to make process improvements.

  • Negotiate pricing/set pricing

  • Partner with quality to ensure product meets internal/external quality standards.

  • Complete PPAP process for any new parts with outside suppliers. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Import/Export:

  • Responsible for remaining knowledgeable of, along with the application of, a wide variety of Import and Export regulations, (i.e. International Traffic in Arms, Export Administration Regulations, U.S. Customs).

  • Provide guidance to and coordinate process improvement efforts with all functional areas including Supply Chain, Program Management, Transportation and Logistics, Security, etc.

  • Maintain and administer documentation validation pertaining to FTA’s, special trade programs, or other governmental agency certificates.

  • Oversee activities with Customs Brokers and freight forwarders, including audit and verification of import/export documents, including 7501’s, EEI’s, Invoices and Manufacturing Affidavits, and expedite clearance of shipments that have been delayed by Customs.

  • Participate in product jurisdiction and classifications reviews for all products.

  • Identify and implement resolution of any compliance gaps determined.

  • Identify and provide appropriate import/export related training for functional team activities. Requirements:

  • Minimum 1-3 years supply chain experience in areas such as buying, supplier management, vendor management, outside supplier processes

  • Minimum of 1 - 3 years of import/export compliance experience with progressively more complex responsibilities. Prefer experience in ITAR/EAR/Customs regulations, licensing, government contracting and international trade compliance.

  • Associates and/or bachelor’s degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience

  • IIEI International Trade Certification, or equivalent experience in import/export field.

  • Mechanical aptitude with ability to read design and print layouts.

  • Proficiency in relevant computer applications, including, but not limited to Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access. Key Competencies
