Summary: This key Operations position is responsible for the coordination of all shipments to Banjo’s customers. With a team of 25+, the Logistics/Distribution Manager will develop metrics and processes to ensure targets of 100% fulfillment and 95% OTD are achieved with short lead times in truck shipments and UPS pick/pack. This position will drive process improvements in the consolidation process and freight scheduling. The Manager will be responsible for creating an engaging environment in which the team is enabled to reach its goals and objectives.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Provide motivational leadership and direction to all distribution associates to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery and Productivity goals while enhancing teamwork.

  • Responsible for continuous improvement deployment within the assigned area; being an innovator of positive change that favorably impacts safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.

  • Assure that capacity levels are maintained to match demand in the short term and long term; participate in long-range planning and budget preparation.

  • Allocate the necessary resources to meet external and internal commitments while maintaining budgetary control for the assigned group.

  • Develop, communicate and maintain measures of performance to track progress in meeting objectives.

  • Analyze problems, account for variances, drive for root cause and implement improved methods and procedures; create, review and update improvement plans.

  • Maintain training plans and records that document employees’ qualifications to do the work assigned.

  • Ensure compliance to legal regulations and company policies

  • Collaborate with warehouse, purchasing and other managers to optimize processes

  • Resolve issues regarding shipped orders

  • Work closely with other process supervisors and functional leaders to share resources as required to meet business unit customer commitments and internal performance requirements.

Qualifications:

  • BA in Business, Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or Logistics or equivalent experience

  • 3 years related functional experience, preferably in a seasonal business with short lead times

  • 2 years leadership experience

  • Knowledge and application of Lean concepts

  • Experience with implementing/sustaining standard work, forecasting, planning and scheduling

  • Analytic skills; experience monitoring metrics and identifying/implementing corrective actions

  • Project management experience

  • Budget management experience

  • Experience in using EDI and preparing shipping documents (e.g. ASN)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel

  • Strong motivation and communication skills
