Provide sales service to a client base in a specified territory. Oversee assigned activities within the territory which may include maintaining and growing both municipal and Consultant Engineer accounts. Penetrate and dominate the Wastewater Collection System Management market, specifically in the areas of flow, level and rain monitoring services and related products.
Attend to sales activities in a specific sales territory, which may include generating leads, generating sales proposals, negotiating and procuring sales contracts, delivering signed contracts to operations.
Responsible for business/client development within an assigned sales territory including cold call meetings and developing strategies to meet individual client’s needs.
Join and participate in local industry associations.
Conceptual sales and closing accounts with Municipal Wastewater customers and consulting engineering customers.
Meet and/or exceed individual revenue threshold.
Timely follow-up on leads generated through both corporate and regional efforts.
Daily and weekly reporting of prospecting activities, schedules, opportunity management and contract status.
Abide by on-the-job site safety requirements.
Attend and participate in both regional and national conferences and sales seminars, including giving technical presentations.
Initiate project kick-off meetings prior to project start-up.
Work closely with Operations to determine specific project requirements and assist in contract interpretation and client interface.
Complete special projects as requested.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Bachelor’s degree or 3-5 years equivalent experience required
Must have a valid driver’s license and a passing Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check
Must be able to pass a background screening to include, but not limited to, criminal, drug, and credit screenings
Willingness to travel and relocate
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail
Superior problem solving ability, initiative, and resourcefulness
High energy and a “can do” attitude as demonstrated by academic/extracurricular activities as well as past work history
Ability to build relationships, work well with a team and across functions, and work independently
Ability to prioritize and lead, manage, and oversee large-scale projects in a fast-paced environment
Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously with effective time management skills to meet deadlines
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and excellent presentation skills
Clear ability to work with a diverse range of customers
Understanding of business processes and basic corporate finance, management, and accounting principles
Consultative selling and closing skills
Experience in high net-worth marketplaces or the aptitude to gain this experience
Ability to manage and grow existing account base within the assigned territory, exceed budgeted sales, and increase market share
Ability to identify and acquire new accounts
Understanding of ADS data and field processes with a willingness and ability to participate in field activities
Understanding and proficiency with ADS software and equipment and how they tie together
Understanding of basic hydraulic principles
Ability to determine customer requirements and which ADS products/services will best fit needs economically
