IDEX Planner/Scheduler in Cedar Falls, Iowa

Primary Function:

Manage the manufacturing material flow of the assigned functions using MRP and other available tools for planning. This includes releasing the orders for manufactured parts in order to support customer delivery schedules.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and release foundry work orders as needed.

  • Reschedule and expedite parts as needed. Monitor expedited casting flow, partnering with Machine Shop Supervisors and Buyers as needed.

  • Assist supervisor in setting work order priorities, monitoring material flow, adjusting item master parameters, and verifying transaction accuracy.

  • Ensure accuracy and integrity within the planning system.

  • Assist customer service with expediting and delivery inquiries.

  • Monitor and help reduce inventory levels in assigned areas.

  • Maintain reports for assigned areas, such as material shortage and Castings on Hold.

  • Receive packing lists.

  • Act as backup for other department personnel as required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and two years related experience (preferred).

OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • A good understanding of material flow through the shop and lean manufacturing.

  • Must have good organizational and communication skills.

  • Must have a good working knowledge of planning BOM’s and an understanding of material planning in this environment or be willing to gain this knowledge.

  • Have a good working knowledge of JDE and its material planning functions or be able to learn this skill in a timely manner.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Must be able to work in manufacturing systems.

WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to move within office and manufacturing complex, write by hand and keyboard, and perform general office functions.

  • Ability to communicate by speech and hearing via phone and in person.

  • Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.

  • General manufacturing, warehouse and office environment.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate with customers, suppliers and all levels of corporate and company personnel.
