Analyze, evaluate, plan, specify, and develop manufacturing processes using initiative, imagination, and judgment under general technical direction and supervision.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for processing new or revised manufactured parts within prescribed time frames to include:
The specification of equipment, fixtures, gages and tooling
Perform or coordinate the preparation of associated documentation
Provide the necessary data and develop preliminary standards
Coordinate start-up of new or revised manufactured parts and equipment
Review of all processes for concept, completeness, accuracy and quality
Initiate necessary actions to trigger prototype production, pilot runs, or production runs as appropriate
Provide detailed communications and coordination with production supervisors, operators, quality personnel, Manufacturing Engineering personnel, and Product Engineering
Monitor the manufacturing cycle
Provide feedback and corrective actions as appropriate
Maintain detailed knowledge of conventional and NC/CNC manufacturing equipment, manufacturing technologies, time standards techniques, cost quoting and work in these areas as required.
Plan, specify, develop, coordinate, and assign manufacturing practices which help control recognized hazards, including the use of ergonomic principles.
Be able to generate various P. C. spread sheets, flow charts, letters, and related documents.
Conduct special studies, perform capital research, serve on special teams and provide support for Global Sourcing, Lean, value stream, S.P.C. or other initiatives as required.
Assist in the development of a safe working environment through the use of occupational safety and health standards including ergonomic principles.
Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
BA or BS degree in an industrial related field or equivalent experience.
Five years varied industrial experience and knowledge of machine processes, capabilities, and resources available highly desired.
OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Requires the ability to manage multiple projects in a systematic and orderly manner.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to move within office and manufacturing complex, write by hand and keyboard, and perform general office functions.
Ability to communicate by speech and hearing via phone and in person.
Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.
General manufacturing, warehouse and office environment.
- Must have the ability to effectively communicate with customers, suppliers and all levels of corporate and company personnel.
** Requires frequent contact with personnel from all departments and at all management levels and outside vendors.
