1st Shift with pay starting at $35.50-$36.36 depending on experience!

Our Foundry team in Cedar Falls, IA is looking for an experienced Industrial Electrician who excels in a fast-paced environment. This position is on 1st shift, eligible for regular wage adjustments and benefits after 60 days.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Safely maintain and repair electrical equipment for Viking Pump Cedar Falls Foundry, including lighting, HVAC, motors, tools, machines, and other equipment in compliance with all electrical codes and company policies.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Locate, troubleshoot and diagnose all types of electrical problems and breakdowns on building, tools, machines and equipment.

• Make recommended electrical solutions to foundry leadership.

• Run circuits and perform electrical construction work.

• Perform installation, removal, and repair of electrical equipment such as transformers, starters, controllers, motors, PLC’s, HVAC, lighting and other equipment and systems

• Draw/draft schematics on paper or electronically.

• Perform required electrical inspections.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Perform all work in compliance with all electrical codes, company policies and OSHA rules and regulations.

• Exercise proper care of tools and equipment.

• Maintain safety awareness at all times

• Work mandatory overtime as needed.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

• Valid Driver’s License.

• Licensed Class A Journeyman Electrician or Class A Master Electrician.

• Arc Flash NFPA 70E Certification

• Must have a working knowledge of preventative maintenance on all types of electrical equipment.

• Knowledge of computer basics required.

• Understanding of Programmable Logic Controllers

• Ability to read electrical and other blueprints

• Experience in a foundry environment

EQUIPMENT/TOOLS:

• Drill press

• Assembly and test benches

• Grease units, and similar or equivalent machines and equipment

• Air grinder and air wrenches

• Vises, drills, small hand tools and similar or equivalent tools

• Lifting equipment and devices

WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds on a regular basis and up to 70 pounds on a periodic basis.

• Stand for extended periods of time up to 10 hours per day.

• Ability to move within office and manufacturing complex and write by hand and/or type.

• Ability to communicate by speech and hearing via phone and in person.

• Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.

• Exposed to any number of elements, but none continuously present to the extent of being disagreeable.

• Able to work at heights up to 40 ft.

• May be required to wear respirator or air supplied hoods as required.
