IDEX Finance Manager North America in Cedar Falls, Iowa

Primary Function:

Build a highly effective domestic and international Finance Team for Viking, including career development and performance management. Guide managers to improve team performance and development of individuals. Ensure the team assists in and meets the strategic and financial vision of the General Manager and Finance Director. Assist other functional areas in identifying and carrying out business initiatives to improve profits, reduce assets and speed-up processes. Oversee the International Business Units, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Accounting and Cost Teams and their duties.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide valuable feedback to employees to ensure career enrichment for both the domestic and international teams.

  • Review the current teamwork balance and responsibilities.

  • Oversight of Viking’s Canadian business unit, including daily, weekly, and monthly guidance.

  • Manage credit and collection, accounts payable, general accounting and cost functions of the business.

  • Review and approve weekly check run for businesses.

Monthly/Yearly:

  • Full financial ownership of the Viking Industrial financial statements, including income statement and balance sheet.

  • Prepare the monthly and/or quarterly orders and sales forecast, working with the Segment leaders to establish monthly targets.

  • Ensure financial statements for all businesses are prepared in accordance with US GAAP, including foreign business units’ adjustments.

  • Recruit and train finance personnel.

  • Oversee the maintenance of strong internal controls thought the business, both domestically and internationally, including compliance with the IKCQ (IDEX Key Control Questionnaire).

  • Coordinate the record retention function.

  • Assist other functional areas as needed in business analytics and process improvement.

  • Serve on cross-functional teams.

  • Partner with various members of management and leadership to drive KPI performance.

  • Work with the senior leadership team and managers to develop the annual operating plan.

Other:

  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis when needed.

  • Provide financial understanding training to Viking and IDEX employees, and the finance team.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

  • B.S. or B.A. in Accounting, Finance or related field.

  • CPA, CMA or MBA a plus.

  • 7-10 years’ experience in a similar-sized, multi-site operation, including manufacturing.

  • Consolidation of international operations, preferred.

  • Management experience in finance, accounting and manufacturing accounting.

  • Experience in leading a multi-level team preferred.

  • Experience in a process focused organization (Six Sigma, Lean and Value Streams).

  • Experience with OneStream and JDEdwards preferred

  • Proven track record, demonstrated by progressive level of growth in responsibility.

  • Experience working for a publicly traded company preferred.

  • Ability to provide direction and establish priorities for direct reports as well as provide proper feedback and critical evaluations of personal and departmental performance.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • JDEdwards, and OneStream.

Work Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to move within office and manufacturing complex.

  • Perform general office functions.

  • Ability to communicate by speech and hearing via phone and in person.

  • Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.

  • General manufacturing, warehouse and office environment.

Organizational Relationships:

  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate with customers, suppliers and all levels of corporate and company personnel.

  • Viking Pump General Manager, Senior Leadership Staff, Departmental Managers and Supervisors.

  • IDEX Executive Office, mainly the IDEX Finance Team.

  • Viking Pump International Subsidiaries personnel.

  • Other IDEX business units, including Finance Teams.
