PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Co-Ops students must be able to work full-time May 2023 - December 2023.

The Engineering team at Viking Pump Inc., a Unit of IDEX Corporation, is seeking a student co-op to work within our Engineering Department in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Student will participate in design projects to support Growth & Innovation and Global Distribution business Segments. The mission is the completion of Viking drawings in SolidWorks to increase velocity for product related ECNs. Support daily engineering functions through JDE and CAD work on daily orders and drawing requests. Increase throughput of projects by assisting engineers and designers with basic tasks including simulation, rendering and engineering calculations.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage drawing and model files in accordance with Viking Standards.

• Learn additive manufacturing and 3D scanning technology to aid tasks related to the Technology Center.

• Produce correctly written and well documented ECN’s. Accomplishing 85% ECN completion by design team by 60 days or less.

• Aid in engineering calculations and documentation.

• Aid in project research though simulation and calculations.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology or Industrial Technology

• Minimum GPA of 3.0 in Major

• Drafting Skill in SolidWorks (or other similar drafting software)

• Organizational Skills

• Adaptability/Managing change

• High impact communication

• Absorb new concepts/processes

• Collaboration
